These excellent quality short handle brushes for the watercolor painter have the best point and spring of all Princeton synthetics.
The special blend of varying diameters of synthetic sable hair issues terrific spring. It looks just like genuine sable, and performs at a higher level than other synthetics.
The Princeton wash brush also features a rich, distinctive gold ferrule and marbleized red hardwood handle.
A Bright Shader has shorter fiber than a Flat Shader. Use a Bright Shader to create delicate lines as well as for thicker applications of paint.
A Flat Shader has shorter fiber than a Bright Shader. The flat styling and longer hair make painting irregular details and shading easy. This brush also expands the possibilities in sign painting.

My Current Go To Brush!
Comments about Princeton Series 4050 Heritage Synthetic Sable Round:
For synthetic sable, this brush hold a lot of water and painting has never been smoother!
from Centennial, CO
It's simple - when I find a brush that performs well and doesn't leave hairs all over my work surface, I buy more. I will be buying these for a very long time. I can't believe what a difference they make over the "20 brushes for $10" packs. I didn't know what I was missing until I found these. Worth every penny! (And I *was* a cheap brush specialist. These have made me a convert!)

I started using these synthetic brushes in place of the sable and have been very happy with their performance

This is a beautiful brush for watercolor. Holds a lot of water and pigment and has a nice point for detail. Great for painting both large areas and small details.

Solid Gouache Brush
from Old Orchard Beach, ME
I'm an illustrator and I do most of my painting in gouache on various papers. It's fine, finicky work - lots of line work - so I need something that maintains a crisp point, and larger brushes that cover well. These fit the bill nicely with a mix of firmness and delicacy. I also find that they hold up pretty well for the cost. No no.1 or 2 round is going to be the last 1 or 2 you buy, but these perform, in my experience, above average in performance and longevity for a solid price point.

4050 line of Princeton watercolor brushes
Comments about Princeton Series 4050 Synthetic Sable Shader:
Really great brush line. I have purchased the liners, shaders (both styles), wash, and stroke brushes in. various sizes. I bought them on sale during Blick's recent Princeton brush sale and I absolutely love these brushes. There haven't been any loose hairs on any of my brushes, even with my 2" wash brush. Amazing quality and performance.
Great synthetic brushes.
