Princeton has done it again, offering its softest and thirstiest synthetic ever!
Almost 20 years ago, Princeton gave artists a synthetic version of Sable that was almost the equal of fine Kolinsky. Today, it's still the standard for performance among its rivals. When Princeton set out to create a synthetic version of Squirrel, the company developed a brush that may actually outperform the natural version.
Neptune is Princeton's thirstiest brush ever, delivering oceans of color to the sheet. Featuring the latest synthetic fiber technology, the Neptune's multiple-diameter filaments are configured to replicate the smooth feel of natural Squirrel, with enhanced snap and resilient strength. Experts in natural hair have been incredulous that the Neptune brush hair is actually synthetic.
Princeton is proud to offer Neptune in a beautiful range of shapes that includes hand-tied Mottlers and Quills. The beautiful sea glass handles of the Aquarelle brushes are the signature of the line.

I really love these brushes they hold a lot of water. They are well made, and snap back into shape.

i use these for watercolour and couldn't be happier. Try them and see for yourself
Excellent brush for beginners
Bought a round no 8 and a dagger-shape Neptune brushes and nicer watercolour paper as many artists advise and it is so much easier for me to make smooth brushstrokes and shapes now and I think it is in large part due to this brush. I was previously using waterbrushes and nylon brushes and they have their uses but this is much better. The brush holds an excellent amount of water and strokes are smooth. The handle has a nice weight and the length is perfect for painting in watercolour books and blocks. Recommended for any watercolour artist but especially beginners.

Love the Princeton Neptune brushes especially size 20. Fantastic for watercolour as hldd lots of water and is really soft and feels luxurious.
Versatile and good at holding paint : )

The smaller size Neptune brushes are perfect for small spaces. I just finished a daffodil painting for my Mother-in-law. The brushes clean easily in water and work with Grumbacher, Windsor Newton, and Caran d'Arche watercolor crayons. (more I'm sure). There was no shedding in the brush hair and the handle size made it easy to use.
Great quality great price

I use this line of brushes a lot and recommend it to my students as well. They are a really excellent quality in the way they hold water, paint and in the way that the tip works while painting. While I had not noticed it, some of my students said, "While you have all those brushes, you use this one a lot, don't you." Only then I noticed it was true. Give this line a try. I have lots of sable brushes, but this line works really well.

Maintains its perfect point!
My favourite brush to pick up is a Size 8 Round Neptune brush. It maintains its perfect point, even after long use. Immediately after rewetting the brush, it springs back to shape and point. I'm impressed with this property in the synthetic brush; it serves as versatile brush in landscapes and botanical paintings. Broad and versatile brush strokes easily shape leaves and petals in one or two strokes. The fine point draws branches, vines, twigs, stamen and more. An exciting warm up is to create a marsh scene while the single round brush creates thick and thin strokes of the marsh grass.I highly recommend the Round Neptune brush as the principle versatile brush.Motlers - Best flat washes. They hold plenty of water. thus are superb at prewetting areas and large surfaces.Flats - Ideal for skies and backgrounds. They produce even strokes of consistent colour. The flat brushes also come with a scrapper on the other end, which serves as a wonderful tool to carve branches in a dark forest or texture into rocks. It is important to note despite the soft feel of the brush, all Neptune brushes are incredibly durable for lifting or mixing large amounts of colour. No cracks in ferrule. No hair strands fall off. No damage to brush shape or tip.
