Princeton has done it again, offering its softest and thirstiest synthetic ever!
Almost 20 years ago, Princeton gave artists a synthetic version of Sable that was almost the equal of fine Kolinsky. Today, it's still the standard for performance among its rivals. When Princeton set out to create a synthetic version of Squirrel, the company developed a brush that may actually outperform the natural version.
Neptune is Princeton's thirstiest brush ever, delivering oceans of color to the sheet. Featuring the latest synthetic fiber technology, the Neptune's multiple-diameter filaments are configured to replicate the smooth feel of natural Squirrel, with enhanced snap and resilient strength. Experts in natural hair have been incredulous that the Neptune brush hair is actually synthetic.
Princeton is proud to offer Neptune in a beautiful range of shapes that includes hand-tied Mottlers and Quills. The beautiful sea glass handles of the Aquarelle brushes are the signature of the line.

Comments about Princeton Neptune Synthetic Squirrel Brushes:
I needed a square wash brush to make my watercolor swatch charts, after shopping around I bought a 1/2 " and 1/4 " Neptune Aquarelle. I use 1/2 pans and these brushes fit nicely in the pans, a consideration when you use 1/2 pans. They are visually beautiful with their sea green glass handles and nice addition of an angled end for scratching grasses and the like into my paintings. For my swatches I needed a brush that was soft but still had some spring and wasn't super soft like some squirrel brushes can be. Because of the combination of squirrel and synthetic this brush has just the right spring I need. One negative is it can drop it's load if you are not careful how you load the brush, but not nearly as bad as my synthetic brush does. Happy with these brushes.

Excited about their performance so far
from New York
I haven't played around with all the brushes I selected from this line, but the ones I've used so far have performed beyond my expectations. I'm curious to see how they perform with age. Otherwise, they hold a LOT of water, keep a nice point, and are a great synthetic squirrel. The best part, no quilt trip!

For synthetic brushes you can never go wrong with Princeton. They are truly the best and the price is always affordable.I bought some for myself and have also gifted a few.

Princeton Neptune synthetic quills and rounds are an affordable brush I can use for washes and fine lining. They are juicy and versatile and spring back into point. I can work quickly and confidently with even controlled strokes. I really like these brushes.
These are really nice brushes, I love how soft they are and how much water they hold and are especially great for being synthetic! I got some rounds, a mottled, and a quill, all very nice, the rounds come to a nice point & the quill does as well and holds plenty of water, the mottler is nice also, makes putting down washes easier. I love these brushes and will be buying more in the future.
Have never gone wrong with Princeton brushes

I have about 4 of these brushes - they are affordable and they perform beautifully time and again. I love this company's brushes and I appreciate being able to buy a brush at a decent price point as I am a newer watercolorist. Not ready to drop hundreds of dollars on a paint brush - yet!
I will buy this product again in various sizes

I'm a beginner watercolor student and have been struggling with too dry a brush. I purchased the Princeton Neptune #4 and I'm loving it. It holds a lot of water and pigment. Also has a nice pointy tip. I struggle with making my brush strokes dance. I'm no Fred Astaire yet, but I think I can get there. I would definitely recommend this brush and what a great price.

I love this brush. It holds loads of liquid and keeps a really sharp point. It has a nice spring to the bristles.
