I threw one of these brushes in one of my Blick orders, a size 6 round, and was completely unimpressed when I tried it compared to my shiny new Neptunes and ...gasp... Isabey travel mop. It doesn't hold as much water/pigment as the others and initially got placed aside. HOWEVER, it's stepped up to the plate as a casual toss around brush - I use it to lift dried watercolor out of the pans, mix, wet watersoluble pencil and crayon, and take it outside for quick sketches and playing around. Throughout all of that, it's retained it's shape and point. I'll definitely add more of these little workhorses to my collection.

I bought one of these 6 years ago I think and use it constantly in oil painting to fan out glazes. I've even used it to apply varnish since it's so smooth. It's almost as good as new still!

It just goes to show that whoever coined the phrase "you get what you pay for" was a Blick customer. I have been trying to learn wash technique for a while and had held out buying wash specific brushes. WOW what a difference when I picked up the Blick catalog and ordered wash brushes. I now feel like I am getting somewhere with my new attempts. Thanks Dick Blick...
