Premo! Frost is a premium polymer clay that's designed especially for the needs of the artist. It is ideal for sculpture, bead making, unique wearable art, molds, rubber stamping, and decorative items. Smooth and pliable, it's easy to knead, yet stays firm enough for detailed work without crumbling.

Frost, like all Premo!, is firmer than Sculpey III and can be mixed with other polymer clays, powders, or pigments for custom effects. When mixed with other colors, it has many of the same characteristics as bleach but with none of the harmful effects — it brightens colors and makes white even whiter.

Considered by many artists and crafters to be the clearest of all the translucent clays, it's great on its own for layered applications and faux stones, and is especially useful in mokume gane, transfer techniques, and faux techniques such as "amber" or "dichroic glass." This unique clay is also reactive with black lights, especially when mixed with fluorescent colors.

It resists ambering (discoloration) and plaquing (mooning and spots). Like the other Premo! Sculpey clays, it is known for its strength and durability and retains a flexibility after baking that helps prevent cracking and breaking. It cures at 275°F (130°C) for 30 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) of thickness.

I purchased this so my Granddaughter and I could use it together, I liked their lightening fast service and wonderful communications. I will remember to purchase from them again. It is so much easier than trying to find it at a store and going from store to store. She and I are going to make necklaces, earrings and a braclet. She is doing this for a 4-H project.

Polymer Clay is my medium- I love the flexibility of the product to create anything that can possibly fall out of my imagination. Premo Frost is a translucent so it enables me to imbed glitter, sand, fabric just about anything and still see it.

Likes - the brightness of the the Frost and White Translucent clays are nice. The clay is quite sticky in comparison with the original translucent clay. However, when blended with with other colors, you come up with a true translucent color, there is no yellowing of the colored clay (which happens when using the original translucent clay.
I was disappointed to see that the 1 lb. brick of Frost is not available in the store. Shipping costs almost as much as the product! I am also confused as to why Premo is selling this product under two different names. The small 2 oz square is called White Translucent. I did travel 3 hours to the nearest Blick store and found the 2 oz package just after receiving the 1 lb brick. I purchased the 2 oz package for comparison and they appear to be the same. Although I've been working with them both, I haven't fired the clay yet, but I understand the Frost/White Translucent clays are supposed to be less likely to yellow. It will be worth handling a "sticky" clay to have true bright colors come out of the oven. Thanks for asking!
