Porcelain makes such a great surface for leaning a brush while not in use! Protect the delicate hairs on the brush from contact with hard surfaces, and protect your studio tabletop from stains and solvents.
This brush holder is weighty enough that it won't slide around on the table. If you can avoid dropping it, you'll be using it for many years.

More than adequate!
from San Jose, CA
This brush holder is HUGE! I was expecting something 1/3 the size. But, it's very substantial and will not tip over easily. It measures 6.5" X 2.0" - it will be useful.

I plan on using this especially when doing watercolors.
more bothersome than helpful
from Queen Creek, AZ
The brushes slide easily out of the porcelain slots requiring use of a putty-like tacky substance which I molded in to prevent slipping. I intend to purchase something else and heave this one in the trash.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It does what is supposed to do-temporarily hold brushes while painting. Wasn't sure if it would work for me but I ended up really liking it. I paint in both watercolors and oils so I may purchase a second one. It is sturdy and easy to clean.
I'm using two of these

I'm using two of these to hold the 5 brushes I'm constantly reaching for. I love organization. I have a turntable for storing my brushes, but it's nice to have my favorites handy and dry.
Just what I was looking for.

I use several brushes at once in my watercolors and I needed a way to set them down while wet or loaded. This brush rest has nice deep slots which keep the brushes in place and off my work surface. I like it's size and it's sturdy and cleanable. Overall very happy with this brush rest.
I love it!
Big enough to keep all the brushes you use while painting. I am pleased with it.
Works well for me.

I bought two because of some of the reviews. Only needed one. I use one at home and one in my travel kit. I use both long and short handled brushes. Possibly some people have trouble with short handled brushes slipping off but mine haven't.
for neat freaks

Allows watercolor brushes to dry fully all around. Keeps them from rolling off the table in class. No more hanging them off the sink edge or standing in a jar so dampness seeps down into the ferule. I try to take care of my expensive brushesEasy to make your own, but for the price, add it to your next order.
