Plast'r Craft is a non-toxic modeling material made of pre-shrunk cotton gauze fabric, impregnated with plaster of paris. Just cut and dip strips in warm water and apply layer by layer to armatures, cores, body parts, etc.
Plast'r Craft is safe for skin, but we do not recommend it for face casting. Try using a plastic face form for Mask Making instead.
After a piece is dry, it can be sanded and painted. Plast'r Craft can be made water-resistant by applying several coats of clear acrylic or varnish. Setting times may vary.
Plast'r Craft II
Plast'r Craft II offers a 20 lb (9 g) or 5 lb (2.25 kg) package of 6" (15 cm) wide, ribbon-folded plaster cloth.

Comments about Plast'r Craft:
Really happy with how much I got for the price. To get a large package of plaster gauze, I usually have to buy it from a medical website.

Works great for what I need it for
from North East, MD
I use this product for face masks, and it does the job just as expected. It is easy to use, and is very sturdy with 2-3 layers. Make sure to use lotion or Vaseline as a lubricant when applying to skin.
good but could be more stretchable and flexible
from Tampa FL
My students use this over wire armature to make plaster sculpture. I wish it was cheaper.
Good for body Casting
from Hattiesburg, MS
Used it for my body and worked really well, feels thicker and not as smooth as the dick blick paster.
A good product, all in all
from The Dalles, OR
I use this product with middle school students. What i like about it are the long wide strips, folded instead of rolled, which make for easy cutting and distribution to many students, and the amount of plaster that is adhered to the strips. My students find this product easy to work with and they can usually achieve a semi smooth finish. We use it to cover wire, paper, tape, papier mache, and even Styrofoam. We often paint over it with acrylics and varnish. Recently we covered TP rolls with plaster gauze, added papier mache features, added another layer of plaster gauze, and then painted & varnished our "animal mummies" when studying ancient Egypt. The students really loved the project. I will include a pic.

Super nice product!

I would order this again in a heart beat! Very durable, wide, and a good amount of plaster is attached to the wrap. Best I've worked with, and my favorite thing about it is that it comes in 20 lbs. packages. I go through a lot of this and can't see myself buying it anywhere else. Pleased!

good product. I have used for many years in my elementary classroom.
Plaster Craft is easy to use.

We use this product with 6th grade in mask making over a form. I really like this product because we can start up where we left off if the children didn't finish their masks in one 50 minute class period. The plaster does not separate and makes a very strong finished product that the children can enjoy for years to come!
