The Pilot Parallel is a major breakthrough in calligraphy pen design.
The “Parallel Structure” nib consists of two parallel plates, allowing the writer to create much sharper lines than with other calligraphy pens. It can also create gradated colors by transferring ink from one pen nib to another, allowing two different ink colors to then be used from one pen nib.
Parallel Pens come with one black and one red ink cartridge. These pens can be used by both right-handed and left-handed individuals.
Refills, Pkg of 12 Assorted Colors
The assorted refill pack contains one each of Black, Blue/Black, Sepia, Violet, Blue, Turquoise, Green, Light Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Pink.

pilot Parallel pens

Bought these pens for an Uncial class. Love them! They use cartridges and can be refilled with ink or just pop in another cartridge and they are ready to go. I have used another name brand pen with cartridges but they are not as easy to use. The ink flows well and these pens are great for beginners as they can take that extra pressure newbies use. Ink comes in various colors- you can buy a pack of black only or a larger 12 pack with various ink colors.
2.4 Pilot Parallel Pen

One simply cannot beat the price here. The pen's nib is the perfect size for my class of beginning calligraphy students - wide enough to be different from pencil and pen points which they have been using, but not so wide to have difficulty in controlling the pen.

These are the first fountain calligraphy pens worth buying. They have the flexibility of a dip pen but the portability of a fountain pen. Only wish: cap could stay on when working as they get lost easily.

These pens and inks perform consistently and effortlessly, I love the way the ink does not dry out when stored properly with the provided cap. My calligraphy work looks amazing.

Calligraphy Pens:Parallel vs. Schaffer cartridge.
By John Costa
from Warwick, R.I.
Since you no longer offer the Schaffer Calligraphy pen sets, I had to switch to the Parallel Pen sets. The Parallel pen bleeds and feathers even when using Bleed-Proof paper. This never happened with the Schaffer nibs. With the Schaffer nibs, the line was clean and crisp. I strongly recommend re-introducing the Schaffer Calligraphy pens in your catalogue.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

NEW AWESOME CALLIGRAPHY PEN
from La Quinta ,Calif
I am a calligrapher and have been for 50 years. I have tried every calligraphy pen on the market. There has never been a non-dip pen that really worked very well until I tried the new Pilot Pen. I highly recommend this one, I am thrilled with how it performs.

Ink would not dry on wedding invitation envelopes!
By Sad Day
I really liked these pens until using them to address wedding invitations. The envelope was a hi-cotton absorbent material and it's a mystery why the ink wouldn't dry. I addressed all 100 envelopes, laid them out individually and let them dry overnight, 24 hours. The next day I noticed a smudge when I went to stack them and was shocked when the ink came off on my hand when I touched them. Due to time constraints and the fact that I had already stamped all of them, I had to come up with a solution to use the envelopes. I called a Blick representative; he couldn't understand why they didn't dry but suggested I use a spray fixative. It seemed to keep them from smudging, but when I received my test invitation in the mail, it was smudged. I wet my finger and dragged it across the name and it smeared like fresh ink. I assumed calligraphy pens would be permanent, but sadly I was wrong. I hope by writing this review I can save someone else from making the same mistake I did. What a terrible first impression for the wedding invite!
