The Pilot Parallel is a major breakthrough in calligraphy pen design.
The “Parallel Structure” nib consists of two parallel plates, allowing the writer to create much sharper lines than with other calligraphy pens. It can also create gradated colors by transferring ink from one pen nib to another, allowing two different ink colors to then be used from one pen nib.
Parallel Pens come with one black and one red ink cartridge. These pens can be used by both right-handed and left-handed individuals.
Refills, Pkg of 12 Assorted Colors
The assorted refill pack contains one each of Black, Blue/Black, Sepia, Violet, Blue, Turquoise, Green, Light Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Pink.

I buy these pens over & over!

This is the pen (Size 2.4) I've used for teaching Beginner Italic classes for a few years. I started with felt tip pens but they lose their edges quickly & hairlines are then impossible. I use (and LOVE) all the other sizes for personal work - impossible to wear out and easy to thoroughly clean! Being able to draw fine lines with just the corner of the nib is a huge plus for creativity, corrections and style.

I like this product

Until I saw this at a friend's studio, I don't think I quite understood that it's a pen that looks a bit like a brush in the photo. Maybe you should feature a little ink line coming from the various pen sizes, or even a brief video. Color mixing is possible with these pens....quite nice!

I've used many calligraphy foundtain pens over the years, and these compare well. They produce clear, sharp lines and have a good "feel" to them. Am still experimenting with the inks, which seem OK. It's really too early to tell about other qualities, but so far am pleased.
Speeds up the Calligraphy learning curve
I bought three sizes of these pens and immediately I discovered they solved many of my calligraphy problems -- I just started learning and was using various dip pins with various nibs. Dip pens are very challenging and take tons of time to learn to load up with ink, the amount of pressure etc... These pens will let you create some nice lettering almost right out of the box, cutting the learning curve. They do however have some of their own learning issues. Instead of varying the pressure as you would with a dip pen to narrow or widen a line, these pens require you to be conscious of the angle of the tip to narrow or widen lines of complicated lettering; still this is easier for me. I wish the price were a bit less.
Great Pens- would recommend

I really enjoy these pens! Makes for a great gift! I bought the refill cartridges as well. Makes for a great gift too for an artist.
My favorite new pen

This is a pen to take anywhere you travel. This year i used it to draw my Christmas card image and then to calligraphy the greeting inside. Wouldn't mind if the design of the pen was changed so the cap can be placed on the pen while in use.

Love these smooth writing fountain pens

Easy to use for beginners, yet flexible enough for experienced penmen. Adore the way colors can mix with the touch of a nib or cartrige.
Unlike any other calligraphy pen

I don't normally write reviews but i absolutely love this pen. At first it took a bit to get used to the water based ink and how fast it likes to flow but once I got the hang of it I was able to write big bold crisp words in vibrant colors and mix the inks to change my writing into various colors. Going from 2 pencils stuck side by side by rubber band to this has greatly improved my ability to create beautiful calligraphy in mere minutes. By the way I've accidentally dpolled it off the table on to my concrete floor and it still works flawlessly. I also like the screw on cap contrary to most ..so kids cannot open it. Nice design. All of my items arrived quickly and packaged well. Thanks DB

Simple and Easy
from Seattle, W
I had planned to use these mostly for doing ketubahs (Jewish marriage documents), but I think I got the wrong size. With that said, I love how easy these are to use. I can get both thick and thin lines without having to dip in ink which is lovely. I honestly don't believe you'll see any different between a piece that was done with a regular dip pen and this pilot pen, and this way I don't have to worry about knocking over my ink cup, which has happened multiple times to me.
