Comments about Pentel Hi-Polymer Lead Refills:
I use for drawing and writing. The different harnesses of the lead is great for different shades of color in my drawings and sketches.I buy by the 12 pack because it is so good and does what I expect of it. not like some other leads that continually is breaking off or turns different shades while using.I cannot and do not have any complaints or problems with pentel lead that I have purchased from Dickinson Blick art materials.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent options for different hardness levels!
from San Antonio, TX
I like to use different hardness levels in mechanical pencils for sketching so these are perfect!
Very nice pencil with the option of a larger lead
I really like this pencil for sketching. There was an option for thicker lead which is great. The only issue is that it's not quite as comfortable to use as the Pentel Graph Gear 800 which has a nicer feel. But I didn't want 2 in my travel sketching set because it would be harder to tell them apart as I plan to keep this one filled with HB and the other with a 2B. It's a very nice pencil - just not quite my favorite of the two.
Hard to find
from Jacksonville, Illinois
Still use mechanical pencils to sketch in locations too severe for a laptop. Refills other than 0.7 HB are getting hard to obtain. Dick Blick is "THE" source.
lead on me
By using different harnesses I am able to shade in spots on my sketches for shadows and or for different depth perception when doing the carving of the piece I'm working on
could not be happier
from Grinnell Iowa
I use different shades of lead for drawings and sketches then I make a wooden carving of my sketches. It is good for shading and sketching for outlines and shading in darker places. My only problem is the 2h lead varies from light to dark to much the 3&4 h are consistent in shade
I love this lead
from Peoria, AZ
This lead is the perfect combination for hardness and softness so that you don't scratch the paper, but also hardly smudge.

Great leads for layout on canvas & cradled board
By Sue H.
Being an artist who also draws a lot in graphite I use a lot of different graphite pencils. I use mechanical pencils a lot for fur, hair, and fine line work. These leads are very thin but do not break that easily. I love them! You won't be disappointed if you purchase these for drawing. I bought the ..3 and the .5 as I already have the .7.
