I have been using these watercolors for two years and refer others who enjoy watercolors to this exact set. You get a good combination of colors and they blend beautifully, allowing you to be very creative. I keep one set in my car with a bottle of water so when I'm driving and see a beautiful spot, I just pull over and paint! Keeping in mind I am a novice painter, I believe they are a very good product, especially for the money.

Beautiful, Buildable Pigments
This pallet has long been my favorite to paint with. The hues are rich and work together so well. The formula allows you to easily use either opaque or transparent strokes with each color. It applies to almost any watercolor paper beautifully. The colors have sort of a natural appeal to them opposed to the bright/artificial look most watercolor pallets tend to have. Great for portraits and landscapes. The pans last forever and shipping was very fast! I highly doubt I will ever find a pallet I like more.

I am primarily a watercolours, but would like to get the hang of gouache for variation. I like that there are a good number of colors in this set, and that it is convenient for traveling...but my sense is that gouache in tubes may be the better choice in terms of mixing. Pans seemed a good way to learn how gouache works.
New to watercolor but I would buy again
I'm new to watercolor so this purchase was the next step up from the cheap paints I bought at my local big box store. Obviously these colors are much more vibrant than the ones I had so I don't have much to compare to yet. I think they are a good price and quality for my experience level.

I love Pelikan paints. I use them in my outreach to paint with seniors. They can see the colors since they are in pans. Spray a bit of water on them before my friends paint and the colors are vibrant and bold. I've been using them for 5+ years and would highly recommend them for kids to adults.
