Comments about Pebeo Drawing Gum:
I love Pebeo Drawing Gum! I first used this on the recommendation of a visiting professor in an art camp I attended and then purchased my own on dickblick.com because it was so easy to use. I've used several other kinds of resists in drawing and painting and this stuff blows them all away! It's very easy to remove (I just rub it with my fingers, but a kneaded eraser gets the job done a little faster and cleaner). I've left it on for several days and it still comes off easily, where other products are difficult to get off after a while. It is also easy to apply and get clean lines. #sweepstakes
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The lighter lines in the attached image are the result of Pebeo, easy to use under and over existing lines.

Used this with the mouth atomizer to mask our stars before painting a night sky with watercolors. It worked really well and came off with just a rub.
Not my favorite masking fluid

I found this brand more difficult to remove than my previous brand. The color makes it easier to see than the white fluids but it was difficult to remove all traces. I probably won't buy it again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Best masking fluid
from El Paso, TX
I don't use masking fluid much, but when I do, I use this. it dries gray so that it doesn't interfere as much with color value as the ones that dry yellowish. I had my first bottle for almost a year and it didn't harden.
I've tried all the various drawing gum brands and find Pebeo the easiest to apply, especially for fine lines.
This should be your choice!

The grayish color of this product makes it much easier to see and make sure all of it is removed from your artwork. I absolutely love it!

This is my favorite brand of liquid frisket for saving the whites in my watercolors.

My high school art students love it and it works well for them. It dries quickly when you put it on thin and it resists very well. No complaints.
Drawing gum. (Masking for watercolor painting)
By Jim from Oklahoma
There are many products in the market that are used by watercolorists to "mask" or preserve the "white" of the paper - in my 50 yrs of painting - Pebeo is by far the best product. I had used different products until about 10 years ago - when I attended 2 workshops by well known artist Nita Engle. Im very thankful for her recommendation and have been very pleased with this product. Try it !!
So easy to work with!
from Central Florida
This is the first masking fluid that was easy to get out of the bottle! The opening is wide, allowing a brush to be dipped into it. It doesn't dry out and congeal into a rubber sculpture so you can have it exposed to the air for long enough to get the work done. It is liquid enough to mask small details, and lifts from your paper easily even if it has been on the paper for a long time. (weeks)Does not stain the paper either.
