Welcome to dickblick
Paverpol is the leading textile hardener and fiber sculpting medium in the world, and the only one awarded the AP non-toxic seal by the Arts and Creative Materials Institute (ACMI). It was created by a group of Dutch artists in the early 1990s as a user-friendly, environmentally friendly alternative to resin and is now used by artists and crafters in more than 20 countries around the world.
This one-step waterbased crème gives sculptors, doll-makers, mixed media artists, painters, interior and exterior designers, theatre set crews, and fabric artists a serious new medium to expand their scope of work, either indoors or outside.
Paverpol can be used with fabric, paper, papier mâché, silk, metal, air-dry clay, chamois leather, baked polymer clay, plaster, concrete, pottery, stone, and more. And unlike most other hardeners, Paverpol will not deteriorate polystyrene foam.
To use, dip natural materials, such as textiles, in Paverpol. Drape or wrap the material around a wire figure or other armature and allow it to dry. Paverpol dries quickly, but slowly enough to allow plenty of working time.

Performs well, but fumes are strong
from Houston, Texas
Comments about Paverpol Textile Hardener:
The result is nice, but I was not able to continue using the Paverpol, as the fumes make me feel nauseous within just a few minutes -- I even tried working next to an open window, with an exhaust fan. On a fume-sensitivity scale of 1 to 10, I'd give myself an 8 -- any strong fragrance repels me. So if you are less sensitive, you might be fine -- but do use good ventilation, and be sure to wear gloves in any event, as whatever's in this may also absorb through the skin.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Professional textile hardener!
from Racine, WI
This product can harden and seal natural materials well enough to be archival creations. It is far superior to similar products that may be fine for elementary school learning projects. It is easy to use and non-toxic, which puts environmentallly conscious artists' minds at ease. The container leaves room for improvement as it can be difficult to open and close container and could be spilled easily if not careful.

The medium itself is absolutely amazing! My high school students love to create with paver pol. However, the container breaks super easily!!

I used this product to harden fabric and other textiles in my art. Yes, it works to perfection. It hardened the fabric faster than I thought it would and is holding up very well. If fact, it works better than I thought it would. Thank you Paverpol!

I am an Art Educator and a mixed media artist. My goal is to expose my students to different mediums in an effort for them to find a medium they are comfortable being creative with. All of my students from K- Fifth Grade love Paverpol . Paverpol has allowed them to explore limitless things with fabric and paper. I'm currently putting together an editorial to submit to a few magazines because the art we so great !Paverpol was an answered prayer for me !

Unbelievable hardness. Used transparent Paverpol Hardener on several fabrics and their colors remained true. I painted it on, lightly, on both sides and on a single side with good results, both ways. I'm not sure if dipping is recommended, but I believe too much product, or at more than necessary, would remain on the fabric.

Although this is more expensive than other fabric stiffeners, this one is by far the best, and the strongest. It is suitable for indoor as well as outdoor use. I make art dolls and stiffen clothing pieces, does an excellent job of being transparent and letting the colors stay the same on most materials. Test materia before applying through, as it make darken some materials.
