Less than what expected

Comments about PanPastel Palette Trays and Storage Jars:
I was somewhat disappointed with the Pan Pastel Tray as I was expecting it to be made out of a heavier sturdier plastic, instead of a plastic that I normally trash. However it does serve it's purpose, which is to hold and organize the pan pastels and maybe they thought a heavier plastic would be overkill since the pan pastels are already encased in a heavier plastic. Still, based on the flimsy plastic, I really think it's overpriced.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great idea, but wouldn't put the lid to the test
By Virginia Artist
I've only recently started using them, but so far I love the PanPastels. While I thought the idea of stacking them was neat, in practice I find the threads annoying. I have a hard time lining them up staight, so I end up spending time trying to align them correctly. Then I must have over tightened one and had a hard time separating them to get to the bottom color. So I was happy to see they made these pallets, and I ordered two of the large ones to fit all my colors.I was initially disappointed when I got them. They're thin and feel a bit flimsy, but so far they seem to be holding up well - so while thin, the plastic does seem to be strong. It's definitely nice to have all the colors visible without having to unscrew them. The pallets are designed so you can put the pastels in the pallets with or without the individual lids. The pallet lid doesn't seem to snap on securely though - so now I'm ordering more individual lids so all my colors have lids, and will still have to contend with the threads, because I'm concerned with the pallet lid coming off when transporting them around. Bottom line, I like the pallets and would buy them again. If you're going to be using them in the studio, they're perfect: they stack and organize your colors so you can readily access them. If you plan to travel with them, I'd recommend using individual lids, or transporting the PanPastels screwed together in the tower.

These are wonderful to keep things organized

I love these trays! The 20 slots allow organization by color, with its corresponding tint, dark, and shade colors. The cover snaps tight, and they stack up on each other for storage.
