Although many critics saw "number painting" as a symbol of the conformity gripping 1950s America, others maintain that it invited people who had never before held a paintbrush to enter a world of art and creativity.

Using this software, you can now create your own paintings from any photograph or image, simply by turning them into paint-by-number projects. Paintings of your family, pets, holiday pictures, garden...the possibilities are endless! Suggestions for materials are included, such as appropriate media, colors, and the surface on which you will paint. This software also includes an integrated user’s guide and a link to internet technical support.

Paint by Numbers 2005 has a very simple interface using step-by-step icons that clearly identify the steps needed to move from one operation to the next to complete the task. A clear, concise tutorial answers any questions you may have about each step. There is an option to add an outline around each color division for a stronger definition, in order to help those who feel they need additional help to define the color areas. Detailed installation instructions are included.
