Consistently the best construction paper

We have found Pacon Tru-Ray construction paper to be the best product for our school due to its variety of colors, quality of the paper itself, and colorfastness. Additionally Blick's prices, especially in bulk, are the best.
Excellent construction paper!!

I teach art to elementary age students. This is the best construction paper I have used. The colors are bright and it is much more durable than the paper available at local stores.

Great for mounting student art. Easy to cut and seems to keep its color.

I came into my art classroom last year following a veteran art teacher who had been there for YEARS!! There was so much stuff! Needless to say, I am still working through her paper supply--much of which is faded beyond belief, but still usable for a variety of things or even donations to others in need. Now that I am able to finally make room for fresh, new supplies I am super excited to use this paper again because it is going to blow the other paper out of the water in terms of color vibrancy! I have used it in the past and have never been disappointed. While this paper is awesome, I will say that it is not 100% fade resistant. We made embossed metal illuminated letters (colored with colorful sharpies and framed on this paper), and we hung them in the window for about 2 months because they were so gorgeous. When I took them down, the sun had completely changed the paper (and the sharpie colors). They still looked fabulous, but I should have known better than to leave them in my direct sunlight window.

I'm using this for an art project for kids and adults with special needs. It's a versatile product and a great way to combine color theory and creativity while working on sensory and fine motor skills.

We ONLY use tru-ray. I does not fade quickly, it is easily cut through a cricket or other cutting machine, it holds up well with lots of water. It is our choice construction paper and we use a lot of construction paper.
Quality has gone WAY DOWN.

I'm so, so sorry to say this, because for YEARS I've recommended teachers buy Tru-Ray as an amazing paper for all art uses but especially classroom bookmaking - but since Pacon took over from Riverside, the quality has deteriorated, and this last batch I bought is completely substandard. Tru-Ray USED to be super high quality - folded easily in any direction, nice and thick, felt nothing at all like construction paper, and paper was cut evenly. Now not only is the paper feeling more 'construction paper-y," almost chalky in certain colors, it's uneven in terms of thickness - if you hold it up to the light it's sort of translucent in places and you can see how unevenly the pulp has settled. It feels kind of flimsy. And it's not evenly cut - I'll receive packs in which one entire edge is cut ragged - or certain colors are 1/8" larger than others (makes a difference when you're making books and all papers need to be same size). It no longer folds easily in any direction and it kind of cracks a bit when folding - it never used to do that. It's still better than other construction papers, for the most part, but it's no longer SUPERIOR - which it used to be. I need to hunt for an alternative. So sad.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
