best we have used

We ONLY use tru-ray. I does not fade quickly, it is easily cut through a cricket or other cutting machine, it holds up well with lots of water. It is our choice construction paper and we use a lot of construction paper.
Quality has gone WAY DOWN.

I'm so, so sorry to say this, because for YEARS I've recommended teachers buy Tru-Ray as an amazing paper for all art uses but especially classroom bookmaking - but since Pacon took over from Riverside, the quality has deteriorated, and this last batch I bought is completely substandard. Tru-Ray USED to be super high quality - folded easily in any direction, nice and thick, felt nothing at all like construction paper, and paper was cut evenly. Now not only is the paper feeling more 'construction paper-y," almost chalky in certain colors, it's uneven in terms of thickness - if you hold it up to the light it's sort of translucent in places and you can see how unevenly the pulp has settled. It feels kind of flimsy. And it's not evenly cut - I'll receive packs in which one entire edge is cut ragged - or certain colors are 1/8" larger than others (makes a difference when you're making books and all papers need to be same size). It no longer folds easily in any direction and it kind of cracks a bit when folding - it never used to do that. It's still better than other construction papers, for the most part, but it's no longer SUPERIOR - which it used to be. I need to hunt for an alternative. So sad.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I buy this product every year for our art show

It is hard to find the large size in so many colors. We use it to mat children's art for our Art Gallery.
My Favorite Construction Paper

This is the brand I use in my art room. The color is consistent, and it is a good weight for drawing and collage. While not completely colorfast, it does hold its color well.

BY FAR SUPERIOR

Have used this paper for 25 years and tried others. The solid color cannot be beat. The black is black and the pigment is consistent. Thickness and texture are just right. Please make even more shades. Variety is great.
True-Ray lives up to it's claims

I have never written a review before, but True Ray colored papers are the best! I found them a few years ago and will never use regular, faded, cheap flimsy construction paper again! I ordered it originally to mat some of my student's work but now I use it for all kinds of art projects. It stands up to paint, ink, pencil and lots of eraser and of course glue. Even though my yearly school budget is anemic, I will always buy this paper. The students love the bright, even color and so do the parents!
Great construction paper!
Tru-Ray is so much better than standard construction paper. It is smooth and easy to work with. It is not bulky, and works as a good surface for coloring and other art projects.
Pacon Tru-Ray Construction Paper

I use this product in my Pre-k through 8th grade art classes. I use this paper as a final draft paper for drawing. The thickness is the perfect size to give their drawings a quality feel and look at a reasonable price.
