I've been an illustrator for 30 years and have seen products change, this being one of them. You used to be able to choose low or high tack in this brand and now it's just one product. I always purchased the low tack Mat finish because I work in watercolor and gouache on illustration board. It was always plenty sticky until recently. It has a tendancy to fly off the surface if it's a small coverage area. I'm still using the product but sometimes it's not tacky enough which is why I stock 3 different friskets. I recommend using different ones for different tasks. Some hold watercolor washes back and some high tack brands hold up better with more delicate cutting patterns. Removal can be tricky with the high tack products so get some Bestine adheasive remover to flow under the frisket as it's removed. It doesn't harm water based mediums and dries immediately with no rings or discoloration. Without it, you can tear the board surface or get undesireble residue left on the board. I hope this helps in selectin the product.

This frisket is horribly flawed. It left so much glue residue on my illustration board, that it ruined my painting. The glue was invisible and could not be detected until after I had applied paint to it.

I later discovered that this is a re-branded product made by the same manufacturer who makes frisket for all the companies selling frisket in the US.

I've been an illustrating now for over 40 years, and over a period of 10 years I've noticed that the companies that make frisket film are making it with too much tack.The problem is the glue resdue will adhere to the painted airbrused or painted area of the illustration, Which is a nightmare to get off!!!!
Beware illustrators! Use only low tack film that WILL NOT LEAVE ANY GLUE RESIDUE TO THE YOUR ILLUSTRATION WHEN YOU PEEL UP THE FILM.

I have used a similar film before that was tackier and better for my purposes, this one isn't tacky enough. It may be a great product for others, but not for me. Now I am trying to figure out which one I did use so that I can buy the best one for my needs.
