Matte Picture Varnish — This pliable gloss varnish protects paintings and does not yellow. It is made from ketone resin dissolved in white spirit, with beeswax added to produce a matte finish. It is meant to be used after paintings have fully dried, which may take as long as one year.
Oil Painting Medium — Old Holland Oil Painting Medium thins oil paints, increases fluidity, and enhances flow. Made from a mixture of linseed oil, turpentine oil, and white spirit, it contains no resin or dryers. It reduces gloss and ensures that brushstrokes remain visible, but does not affect the drying time.
Refined Poppy Oil — Old Holland Refined Poppy Oil is made from the first pressing of poppy seeds. Used to increase the fluidity and enhance the flow of oil paints, it's great for use with light colors. Refined poppy oil possesses many of the qualities of linseed oil, but is less susceptible to yellowing and dries slower. It also enables brushstrokes to be removed. It can be diluted using turpentine and white spirit.
Quick Drying Painting Medium — This medium thins oil paints and enhances their flow. It also produces quicker drying times, reduces gloss, and allows brushstrokes to remain visible. Made from a mixture of linseed oil, turpentine oil, and white spirit, Quick Drying Painting Medium contains no resin or dryers.
Retouching Varnish — Great for reviving elements of paintings that have faded or become dull, Old Holland Retouching Varnish brings back the original quality and character of the paint surface. A ketone resin dissolved in white spirit, this varnish also provides temporary protection, dries in several hours, and when dry, does not yellow.
Stand Oil — This boiled, polymerized linseed oil enhances the flow of oil paints and allows brushstrokes to be removed. An elastic medium, it also enhances gloss and lengthens drying time. It can be thinned using turpentine and white spirit and is suitable for the practice of the glacis technique. Stand Oil is less susceptible to yellowing than traditional linseed oil.
Windmill Cold Pressed Linseed Oil — This cold pressed oil is made from linseeds that have been pressed in a windmill. It enhances the gloss and flow of oil paint, lengthens drying time, and allows brushstrokes to be removed. It can be diluted using turpentine and white spirit.
