Welcome to dickblick
Old Holland has been making artist colors since 1664, making it one of the oldest continuously operating companies in the art supplies industry. The company is known for uncompromising adherance to traditional techniques and standards.
All color making is done by hand, and all processes are controlled by artists. Pigments are ground in stone rather than metal rollers.
Old Holland Oils are produced according to traditional recipes, those used for paintings made in the 17th century. These paintings retain the clarity of their colors to this day. That's durability.
Like hundreds of years ago, only the best pigments and binders are used to produce very concentrated and light-fast paint, resulting in higher color strength, hiding power, and intensity. That goes for all 168 colors listed here.
Only cold-pressed linseed oil from the first pressing is used for the binder. This optimizes oxidation (drying) of the paint and also promotes permanence. The brush strokes flow out better too.

There are a few colors made by Old Holland that I cannot find in other brands and must have. I always know that I am buying quality and reliability when I choose Old Holland oils.

Top of the line

If you are going to paint seriously, you might as well use the finest paints you can. You never knew if this painting will be your masterpiece. So I decided to use the best I could find and that was Old Holland. I'm sure there are many other paints on the market now that are great but Old Holland has passed the test of time.

One of my favorites

Old Holland Magenta is one of the most saturated, pure pigments out there. My last tube lasted five years with heavy use--it doesn't take much. After I ran out of it and tried other brands, it became clear to me that nothing else comes close. It's worth every cent.

The best oil paints around.

Old Holland Titanium White is excellent. I use the tube for ease of use and less waste. No other paint has matched the density and color - knife work stays sharp and doesn't collapse like extenders can do.This paint is not cheap but, until I find something like it, I will keep using it.
Best in the business for purity in color
Old Hollands are really the most vibrant and color saturated oil paints on the market. I try to buy one tube every time I shop and slowly stock up that way. They are pricey but if you are traditional glaze painter like me you will find they last a long time due to their purity of color. A little goes a long way and many of their colors are unlike any other brand making them an asset to have. Also, they have the best purples/violets on the market by far.
