A popular alternative to glass when framing artwork, these pre-cut, 0.050" thick polystyrene sheets reduce glare, reflections, and UV damage.
Less fragile than glass, Nielsen Bainbridge Non-Glare Styrene Sheets are also great when shipping artwork. They have a protective film on both sides that protect them from scratches and smudges. The film should be removed before displaying your art.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

NOT FOR FRAMING WITH SPACERS
from Madison, WI
Comments about Nielsen Bainbridge Non-Glare Styrene Sheets:
Do not purchase this acrylic sheeting if you plan to use it for frames with spacers!!! Once the protective film is removed from both sides, the sheeting is frosted on one side. If you place the acrylic sheet directly in contact with artwork, it appears transparent, but if there is any amount of space at all between artwork and the acrylic, the artwork will appear blurry.I received amazing customer service when I called Dick Blick to report that this product would not work for my framing which utilizes spacers but do believe that they need to update the description for this product to let customers know that it is frosted on one side.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not as clear as acrylic. If styrene is what you you want, these are adequate. If you want to use these as a substitute for glass in a frame, you might be disappointed. It all depends on what you want. Some things you have to see before you buy.
Good only Some of the Time
By PA Artist
As mentioned in other reviews, the image needs to be pressed exactly to the plexi to be clear. I've used other non-glare plexi that's far superior.

I bought these as an alternative to glass for watercolor paintings. I use a very thin window mat and these sheets are way too opaque for me to be able to use. I removed the film from both sides and was still left with a blurry image. I will be returning these as soon as I figure out how. I am very unhappy with the inconvenience this purchase has caused. I imagine these have a purpose but it is certainly not for displaying art.

Exactly what I needed!
from Fort Lauderdale, FL
This is a product that is not readily available in my local art stores except by having it cut to order - which is quite expensive. I was happy to find them on here. After reading the review that mentioned the "frosting" on the styrene sheets, I guessed s/he hadn't realized there is protective film that needs to be removed. Once this film is removed, the sheets are perfectly clear!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Would not buy again.

Perhaps I underestimated the "non-glare" feature. The frosting on the acrylic sheet renders the image to be displayed too blurry if there is a window mat in place. Will not be using this.
