Get a custom look frame for a fraction of the price. Frame artwork, photographs, and more to any full inch size from 8” to 40”. These durable anodized aluminum mouldings are the same quality utilized by custom picture framers and are easy to assemble.
Two kits are required to assemble a rectangular frame. The beveled face of each moulding section measures 5/16” in width with a depth of 7/16”. The resulting frame can hold a print, protective glazing, and up to two mats, one of which acts as the backing.
To create a custom frame, simply measure the overall height and width from the outside edges of your work. Choose one size kit for length and one size for width, and assemble your frame with the included hardware. Corner angles, eyelet hangers, and spring clips are included with the kit. Cut mats to full inch sizes so that they fit snugly behind the beveled front face. You'll need to provide two mats, glass or glazing material, picture wire, and backing paper (to protect the mat) if desired.
Frame Depth — The depth of a frame refers to the depth of the frame's rabbet (the cut-out area behind the frame's molding that holds your artwork in place). To find a frame that will accommodate your artwork, measure the depth of the artwork, including any matting or mounting materials, and order a frame with a depth that is, at a minimum, the same as that measured depth.
Frame Dimensions — Frames are sized by the opening, not by the outside of the molding. To determine the size of frame to order, measure the outside of your artwork, including mat, and order that size frame. The frame will overlap your artwork ¼" all the way around, so your artwork will fit nicely behind the frame's molding.

Comments about Nielsen Bainbridge Frame Kits:
I have used these frame sections to frame over 100 pieces of my artwork. They are so easy to work with and the price is very fair. I've saved a lot of $$$ doing this myself.

Nielsen Bainbridge Metal Frame Kits are awesome
from San Diego, CA
Nielsen Bainbridge Metal Frame Kits are fully customizable. Pretty much whatever size metal frame you need, you can make. Each kit comes with x2 metal frame pieces. And they're super easy to assemble! All you need is a flat head screw driver.
Perfect for custom-sizes!
I had a poster 24" x 32" and I wanted to frame it unmatted to the edges so standard frames in stores just wouldn't do. I am so glad to have found this frame kit here! Bought a set of the 24" and 32" and it turned out perfectly with some cut plexi & hard board for the backer both leftover from another framing project.

Convenient, flexible framing for watercolors. Shipping container was very professionally done.
Easy to use, nice looking frames.
from Tucson, Arizona
I had some art that needed a simple black frame. Local frame shops wanted too much to give me what I wanted. I knew that these simple, aluminum, black frames would be perfect but couldn't find them locally. Shopped online and found the incredible selection at Blick. The frames I ordered arrived quickly and were priced fairly.
Perfect for Projects
Now that I have had some practice using this product, I find that it works perfectly for putting together a fairly inexpensive frame. It takes a little practice making the corners come together without any sharp edges or gaps, but it can be done! I have gone back and fixed my mistakes now that I know what I am doing. I will order this product again.
Great, easy to use frames

easy to put together, could be stronger, however.
Excellent Framing Solution

I use these frames for my watercolors. They are so easy to put together, it's ridiculous. They are lightweight and inexpensive; but deliver a nice professional look, allowing the artwork to be the focus of attention. I intend to use these for all of my work.
A little disappointing
from Seattle, WA
I always considered Nielsen to be the gold standard for do-it-yourself framing. It's been a few years since I've used them, so maybe something has changed. I was disappointed that when I assembled my frames, the miters were off so that I wasn't able to get perfect tight corners. No matter how carefully I screwed down the braces, there was a slight gap. They are useable but not up to the standard I would have wanted for a gallery show.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These metal frames are easy to put together and can be made to fit just about any size you need. They make a nice unobtrusive frame that securely hold the glassworks pictures I make.
