New Wave Posh Tabletop Palettes are everything the name implies — well designed, luxurious, and beautifully hand finished by the Amish of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Made using fine, furniture-grade maple, these palettes are painstakingly hand-sanded and then hand-finished using New Wave's proprietary satin finish. The result is a premium, warp-resistant, nonporous surface that cleans up with ease and is impervious to standard artist solvents and mediums.
Choose either a beautiful Natural Stain finish or a neutral Grey Toned surface that's ideal for color value matching. All are made in the USA.

Nice alternative to glass
from St. Petersburg, Florida
Comments about New Wave Art New Wave Posh Tabletop Palettes:
I use this for oils. It's far better than similar palettes I've seen in local art shops, and better priced. Haven't had any of the scratching issues experienced by other reviewers yet. I switched from a large glass palette and it's much lighter and more portable. I also like the neutral tone for color-mixing. I agree that the manufacturer would benefit by marketing it's own knives.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use this palette for my studio work in oils. The toned surface really does help with color choices; it cleans easily and I haven't had any issue with scratching. (I do use a palette knife--gently.)
Wave other palettes goodbye

The palette is light weight but sturdy and I can easily clean up my oil paints.
Won't replace my glass palette
from Rochester, ny
I oil paint & thought this would replace my glass palette, but I am using my glass palette again after just a few weeks of using this one.The 1st week I used it I got 2 small gouges in it, just from mixing paint with palette knives.....I haven't used a razer blade to clean paint off of it at all - which would definitey ruin the finishIf pthalo colors are used it is almost impossible to remove the hue thereby ruining the nice grey surface.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Used once & have a scratch in it
from Rochester, NY
I bought this as a replacement for my glass palette because I didn't like the glare I would sometimes get on it. This palette does not have a glare problem, but I used it once & have a gouge & a good size scratch on the surface. The instructions say not to use the palette knife to roughly - I don't think I did. I will not buy this product again. Perhaps the manufacturer should develop some silicone or plastic palette knives & recommend those to use with this palette.
