Welcome to dickblick
Porcelain is a great surface for mixing paint! These nesting porcelain bowls are so easy to clean, and they stack neatly when you need to store them.
Porcelain is weighty, so these mixing bowls won't slide around while in use. Thanks to their sturdy construction, they will last you for many years.
The small bowl measures 75 mm (just under 3") in diameter, and each bowl is 13 mm (about ½") tall. The large bowl measures 100 mm (just under 4") in diameter, and is about 15 mm tall. Each set comes with one cover lid.

My Absolute Faves!

Comments about Nesting Porcelain Bowls:
I bought these as a gift for a budding artist. I have been using these bowls for years for all my water based paints. Acrylics stay viable for days when covered. Mixed colors in watercolor just need a little water. These are the best.

Great for Watercolor

They stack for storage, are a great size for mixing, and the color you mix is easy to judge. Compared to other solutions, they might not use your desk space efficiently. Easy to clean!

What a great idea!
They're small, they're portable, they prevent colors from running together on your palette and keep your palette clean and they're super easy to clean. What's not to like?
Nesting Porcelain Bowls

I wish I had ordered these a long time ago. They are wonderful! I can mix several different colours and when not using I stack them up keeping the colours fresher. I also take them to my art group as they are easy to pack. I just criss-cross two heavy rubber bands around them. If you are finished with one colour and need to add a new one it is easier than washing off a large palette. Love them.
Very well made, used for watercolors and Blick has the best prices!

These little bowls are a great accessory for my porcelain palatte. I do my color blending in them and keep my palatte clean. Can store my blended colors for future use without having a messy palatte. Guess I'm a neatnix.
Porcelain is awesome as a pallette!
By Karen the doodler
I've used a wooden palette with foil wrapped around it and a tin palette. Then one day I was working on a painting and had a porcelain plate next to my easel. I knew it wasn't good for eating on anymore so I just put my paint on it. It's so easy to clean! Watercolors can dry out but they never lose their usefulness. Acrylic is a bit harder to keep wet. These bowls are perfect for both acrylic and watercolor. It also protects my cat from getting into the paint. : ) When I've used plastic palettes, the color seems to sink in to the palette.I'm thrilled with all the new tools we have today! No more stinky darkrooms for photography as well! Remember the fear of light? I keep checking on the Dick Blick site to see what else has evolved! Thanks so much!
