Make fascinating white-on-blue prints from natural or man-made materials. Just place flat objects (leaves, flowers, insects, lace, jewelry, etc.) on the sun-sensitive paper, expose the materials to the sun, and create photo-montage images.
No inks, presses, photo equipment, darkroom, or chemical processes are needed. Prints develop in tap water in seconds. Fun for any age group.

Sun-Sational Sun Printo Paper
from Florida (FL)
I used it as part of my Teach In Class with 2nd Graders. They really liked seeing their images come to life, with the sun making pictures. It was just the right size for the project. It was easy to use. Times vary, we had to redo a couple. Overall a success and fun for kids.

I love this paper! It is easy to use and non toxic. You can use all kinds of objects to make your prints and I have always gotten consistent results. A cap full of hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice in the developing water helps to intensify the blue color.
Fun little project

I really enjoyed working with this paper but it was very small and hard to use the markers on it.
Even with seaweed ...
By Gigi in PA
Collect seaweed in a bucket of water. When ready back at home, wiggle the seaweed(s) where you want it on the paper. My aunt showed us this about 50 years ago :)) Her sheets were full size and, when dry and folded, made notepaper. So many options wherever you are ... in the woods, fields, etc.
Great for fun and teaching
from Beltsville, MD
This is a great product. I bought one for myself. It worked so well, that I bought two more for a science demonstration for kids 6-12. It works well with a bright light inside (4 minutes, light source 12 inches away), as well as direct sunlight.
This is really fun to play with. I used direct sunlight through a window. I also used different timings of exposure from 2 minutes to 5 minutes. The longest exposure makes the darkest blue background, so you can adjust the time depending on the background color that you want. The instructions said wait until the paper turns light blue, but don't over expose the paper. You can judge the color change by comparing it to the blue on the package. It is similar to the color of the unexposed paper. When rinsing, use the minimum time to avoid paper curling as it dries. Blotting the paper also works to remove excess water.
