This basket reed is perfect for weaving lamp shades that leave a constellation on the walls and ceiling, as well as creating classic country baskets.

I bought this item to use in the art classroom. The students were able to use it with ease and the fan projects they completed came out amazing.

We tried the Blick lesson plan using this product, "circle wall sculpture." I turned out really well. I would do it again.
Quick and prompt service/ Follow up

I was impressed with Blick's quick review of my order and notification of my error of not including a proper shipping address---when I was unable to call them back the very same evening--they made it convenient for me to simply respond by email and I did not have to go back and adjust online forms, etc---being a busy art room teacher, I appreciated the ease of correction and the very fast service and convenience that Blick provides to customers.
Excellent product, great value
Can be used in basket weaving, making parakeet toys or caning chairs, natural color or dyed with Rit Dyes or drawing ink, and even split in two to have much thinner media. For waterproofing acrylic paint or wood stain can be painted on--And the bulk discount is an added bonus.

Good product and hard to find.
from Central Ohio
I use this product to build free-form structures with a hot-gun glue. Fast and strong. It's quite flexible, as thin reed should be, but laminating layers of the stuff is surprisingly strong. The grain structure is very prominent and it's difficult to re-profile a reed (even with a very sharp knife) without lots of splintering. Still, the trade-offs make this my new go-to material. Sure beats trying to bend wood by the conventional steaming and bending irons.

I'm experimenting with materials.
from kansas city
I'm experimenting with material to see what I can do with them. This seems like a good material at a good price. I rate it "average" because it looks like all other reed material I've seen and handled. Not superior but not inferior either, average . . . Delivery was much faster than the checkout process said it would be so I'm happy about that
