This unique resource gives art teachers in grades 7–12 a collection of 44 ready-to-use lesson plans related to eight different world cultures in the popular arts of painting, jewelry, ceramics, costume, architecture, metal work, and collage.

The cultures explored include Turkey, Ireland, The Hopi of Southwest America, The Maya of Central America, Mali, India, Tibet, and China. Projects include molded clay faces, stone collage castles, a Hopi canteen, a Mayan mask, a Chi Wara carving, découpage arm bangles, and more.

Each project is detailed, illustrated, and ready to use. Projects include a brief historic background, preparation, materials needed, step-by-step directions, conclusions, and follow-up suggestions. Each project also includes a print of actual museum pieces in full color and a photograph of a completed student project.

Written by Susan Hogan whose teaching experience includes many years in NYC public schools as an art teacher. She has a national exhibition record of mixed media paintings in museums, galleries, and juried shows.
