The new Montana Gold is acrylic-based, extremely high-covering, and works on almost any surface, even flexible ones. Use it on canvas, concrete, glass, wood, and more.

Montana Gold still dries quickly, but its new formulation assures surface adhesion before drying. A new low-pressure system, combined with a variety of caps, offers soft handling for fine details and smooth application. From very thin to super-wide lines, Montana Gold paints are quick and easy to apply, with accurate, professional results. And every color in the line is CFC-free (Chlorofluorocarbon-free).

The Montana Gold range includes 204 Matte acrylic colors, including a range of Classic Color Shades, Fluorescent Color Shades, Shock Color Shades, Process Color Shades, and Effect Color Shades. All colors are highly lightfast.

Included with each cap-less can is a Standard cap (the spray width falls between the Thin and Medium cap). The collar of the can displays the paint color for easy identification. Each can accommodates different caps to help artists achieve pencil-thin lines with slow pressure all the way up to a 13" wide spray with high pressure.

Note — Prior to use, Montana Gold Acrylic Professional Spray Paints must be shaken to assure the pigments and other ingredients are sufficiently blended. To accomplish this, hold the can upside-down in one hand, and strike the bottom of the can against the palm of your other hand. Repeat the process several times until you hear the ball bearings (which may have settled with the pigments in the bottom of the can) moving freely inside the can. Another alternative is to take two cans of spray paint, one in each hand, hold them upside-down and then hit the bottoms of the cans together several times. After you hear the ball bearings moving freely, vigorously shake the can back and forth in a lengthwise direction a few times to further blend the paint. Whichever technique is used, use care to avoid damage to the can or injury to your hands.

Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

This is possibly the best paint that I've used I bought the montana black spray paint is very good but iam not a fan of the high pressure I love the montana gold iam very pleased with this paint the colors are vibrant as can be and the coverage couldn't get any better I got the 6 level caps with this paint and they make the experience of using this paint just much better I highly recommend this paint if you use it as an artist or a graffiti artist which iam both of the price is a little expensive but you are deffinetly paying for the quality

The quality of this paint varies from can to can.If you sand it lightly before a clear coat the color changes,yes changes.
I happen to have a power paint shaker so these cans got completely mixed,and still when spraying they spitted and left an uneven coat.About the only use I can see for this paint is if you are a graffiti artist who works at 3am in the morning.
Total garbage.

I bought a couple of cans of Montana Black on line and got a pretty good result covering a piece of wooden furniture, tho it took a lot of spraying to get even coverage. Awesome color! I drove 50 minutes to the nearest Dick Blick to get some more and all they carried was the Montana Gold, locked up in a cage, that you then have to have someone stand next to you while you are trying to pick out colors. When I noticed the price was even higher than on line, the clerk got an attitude. (??!) Anyway, bought a number of cans to paint more furniture and I found that SOME of the colors were fine but others would just leave a "hairy" finish and would practically blow off in the wind. Then I would have to sand and spray again. LOTS of paint. Annoying. Too expensive. It's a shame, because the colors are beautiful.

I was told that Montana Gold Acrylic Spray Paint was the best you could buy and came in a variety of colors. I decided to try a can (definitely on the pricey side)and followed the scant instructions on the can which was "Shake can for 3 minutes" (NOT 5 minutes like others were luckily enough to be told to do). I used it on some metal figures at the same time I used Tamiya spray paint on similar figures. Unfortunately, it is now twenty four hours later and the Montana Gold Acrylic is STILL NOT DRY!!! The Tamiya paint dried within 15 minutes. Needless to say I'm not happy with this product. I'm just relaying the facts as they are.

When shaken properly (for a good five minutes, they come from Germany so imagine the settling that occurs on their journey), these sprays are hands down the best on the market.
The colors are rich and the coverage is incredible. One can of these are equal to about three cans of any other spray paint, just for the coverage alone.
I own about twenty cans from their lines, Gold, White and Black and I must say I have never once had a clog, "toothpaste-like" product, simply because I shook first...a lot.
They dry quickly and the super low odor is an extreme plus for me and the different caps are awesome for detailed sprays.
I couldn't be happier with these paints and I can't recommend more highly.

I bought this paint in a Blick store and the clerk was nice enough to explain to me the necessity of shaking the can for a good 5 minutes (or your arm falls off). She warned that if the paint came out like 'silly string' the can was ruined because that meant the paint was coming out separated and it was not shaken enough before use. I worried a bit and was really conscientious in my process and I am happy to say it is a really great paint. The colors are incredible, the fumes seemed less strong than rustoleum and the coverage was good.

Just thought I would give the new Graffiti & Street Artists a few more thoughts to consider about buying this AWESOME paint. I can't stress enough that you have to SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE the F out of this can. This is German Montana, meaning that it was shipped here from Germany. It takes about a month on a container ship to get here and then it is stored until it's sold, so the pigments have heavily settled to the bottom, so SHAKE the mf'er. If you dont, the valve will clog and you have to toss the can because it's worthless now. Bang the ends of 2 cans together if you have to. Thin caps clog period, that's the way it is, so keep a few extra's around. It's best to use a thin cap on a can that is half full, it doesn't clog as fast. Practice some serious can control, if you dont your work will look like 3rd grade s**t and who needs that. This paint is also lightfast for at least 15 years, it's actually much longer but that is what the manufacturer states. EXTREMELY high covering, you can cover burner chrome or black with one good pass with any color in the range. Dries very, very quickly, so stencilers will love it. This is NOT an all season paint, you CANNOT use it in the rain or snow like a lacquer or you will get an ugly runny mess but when it dries it's completely weather proof. This really is the best ACRYLIC graff paint on the market, so have fun with it. Last thing...How do you get to Carnegie Hall? PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

Only problem I have with buying this can from Blick is the price, it's WAY out of line.

I've used this product to paint detailed designs on outdoor wooden furniture. I love the colors. I like the high and low pressure, but nothing is consistent. I have used many different caps and they aren't producing thin lines, only various medium lines with varying pressure. Several of my cans would not ever work, while others took a lot of time trying to get them to work. This ruins the creative mood. I shake at least 3 minutes. First, clear comes out. Next, a little bubbly, mushy paint. Then a thin line of 'toothpaste'. And finally, it may or may not work, but I usually have to use a pin to clear out some apparently stuck dry paint, and a coat hanger to press repeatedly to get it to spray, rather than just put on the cap and risk clogging it. Once in a while it will spray out of control for a few seconds, finally stopping. This is exasperating and I am not certain I will use this product again once I've completed my commission, which is a couple of weeks later than I had promised. I am very disappointed because I had really wanted this to work out and had talked good about the product at first, thinking I would not continue to get bad paint cans. If there is improvement in the product, I will definitely reconsider. I wouldn't mind testing a new product. I do like the coverage, and how it dries rather quickly because some of my work involves stencils.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
