heavy - good quality paper and covers
from UIO - ECU
Comments about Moleskine Watercolor Notebooks:
Great product, not only in heavy good quality paper but resistant and nice looking covers. At the time you finish your last page, covers are usually as new, even if you carried your moleskin every day on backpack. Really strong covers.

I use a variety of mediums in this sketchbook (both wet & dry) and the paper has handled it all well thus far! Really nice simple design too.

I use water color paints, intense pencils, acrylic paints...I draw, write quotes...I just ordered another book for myself and a gift. Really love the small size, too.
Great sketchbooks for watercolor and ink
By Watercolor sketcher
from Santa Fe
I've used Moleskine watercolor sketchbooks of years and although I use books from other manufacturers, I keep coming back to these, as well. The paper holds up well to a couple of layers of watercolor. Although the pages are textured nicely for painting, still smooth enough for drawing with ink. I use anything from fine liners to fountain pens and even the broad strokes of the Pentel brush pen and they all work very well on this paper-and look nice with watercolor added over the ink. The colors also stay vibrant on the page when dry.I have been holding out hope for some time now that Moleskine will offer a portrait format in their watercolor sketchbooks but they haven't so far. That is a downside, but not a deal-breaker for me.
I love this little book
I've been wanting one of these for ages, finally bought one. I'm preparing the pages for Bible quotes using watercolors, gelatos, colored pencils, stencils, acrylic paints. A wonderful book!

Love this sketchbook!

I have many sizes of the moleskine watercolor sketchbooks -- love the small one for travel. The paper is on the thin side so it'll warp a little if you use a ton of water, but that's okay for me. I still use both sides of the paper.

I've been using moleskine watercolor and sketchbooks for years. Paper is durable and seldom bleeds through. The watercolor book comes with 36 sheets (72 pages). The paper is bright white and has the same medium rough texture on both sides (similar to cold pressed). Colors are bright when dry. It is great for all media and is a convenient size. It lays flat when open with a little help from spring clips. They are rather expensive unless purchased in bulk. I want to try the Stillman-Birn sketchbooks. Hopefully the S-B will be as good as the moleskine!
Watercolor Field Sketchbook
By Laura en Plein Air
from Collins, IA
It makes a nice field watercolor sketchbook. I can carry it in my vehicle or tote bag with ease. Its strong with good heavy watercolor paper that can take a lot of abuse. It has a nice look as well and the sizes are perfect for taking along anywhere. I keep several and save them for ideas for future works or as a log for places I've been. It's nice to do artworks that capture a moment rather than just a phone pic!

A great present to the watercolour artist in your family. Good size yo bring with you while enjoying the outside and suddenly see a scene you like to paint. Good quality paper and why not buy one for yourself as well ......Great gift idea.

Great for beginners
By A busy art student
from Norwood, MA
As someone just learning how to use oil paints, I find these incredibly easy to work with. Different colors mix very well with each other, allowing the artist to create a virtually endless array of vivid hues. The paint takes a very long time to dry, allowing the artist to keep working on their painting for days on end. They do have a strong smell, though, so I suggest working somewhere ventilated.
