I bought one and I am glad I did, cause I'd always wanted one.

That said it's so pricey... I mean it's so expensive I am afraid to use it. The intended purpose is art journaling with pencil and yes for that it's perfect, but for the price I feel like I am wasting the pages with doodles and sketches and notes I could easily do on a more economical paper.

For the price you want to use it for really lasting work, yet the pages don't like ink or paint or watercolor. really only good for pencil and for a sketch pad that fits in my purse and is only good for pencil I can get that for 2$.

I like the off white paper, and the pocket in the back is handy for keeping a few business cards in easy reach. plus it's nice and sturdy has a book mark and a band.

I just wish they were a priced a little more friendly for their intended use.

This was actually recommended to me by a friend. I love it, of course, the pages are a bit yellow, i got the sketch book, I've grown to love it. One problem is that when I use my markers (Prismacolor) it leaks through.

I personally recommend the large over the pocket sized one.

For it's intended use nothing beats this product. Smaller ones will fit in your back pocket and larger ones are portable in a small bag or portfolio. The covers are firm enough to write in while standing and something that I absolutely love is that the pages lay flat when it is opened, having to try and write or draw over a hump near the spine of a journal/sketchbook is a personal pet peeve of mine. For having virtually no tooth to the paper it picks up and holds light ink and pencils extremely well.

However, it's intended use is to get ideas on paper. sketches, notes and journal entries. It is not intended to support a finished product using paints and heavy inks. If you are looking for something to support those medium look elsewhere. If you are looking to have something to capture that lightning idea you had while out at lunch before it's gone forever, better have this on you.

I am a Graphic Design student & I use the sketchbook for a "journal" that i keep all sketches for projects in - its a required part of the course - I LOVE this sketchbook.
It is strong, durable, and I feel like it will last forever.

Pro's : Durable cover, durable pages, great paper to work with, love the yellowish color of the paper...it makes me feel like im creating something great :)
Con's : I wish there were more pages in it. maybe double...

I will definitely be buying these for the rest of my college career & forever afterwards. Most definitely worth it.

I kept reading about all these artists with their Moleskine books, so I finally purchased one.

Pros: pages are thick, nice cover, has a little elastic band
Cons: overpriced, pages are yellow/cream colored

It is a novel thing to have. I have bought other small sketchbooks at lower prices than this. If you like looking cool with a designer sketchbook, then this is for you.

I like the qualities of this larger sketchbook. Though there are others that are similar, none of them are exactly like this one. I tried using the smaller version for on-site sketches but it seemed a bit small and wonky for me. Agressive approaches do not work well for this paper. I would suggest 'dry media' with a light to medium touch, as the paper has a tendency to "groove" with anything having too sharp of a point. I use vine & willow charcoal, carbon pencil and graphite sticks with this paper. Drawing holds with little transfer (which can be cleaned up with a chamois or a kneadable eraser)until it can be sprayed with fixative: Dries fast.

Why do people rave about this much hyped product? I own the sketchbook. The only good thing is the classic look and well made cover. The paper itself is cheap, cheap, cheap. Its suitable only for pencil or ballpoint pen.Any type of ink pen or sharpie will show thru on the next page, and sometimes on the next three pages! It cannot handle watercolor without extreme buckling. I wont waste my money again.

This is a travel classic. Very stylish and portable.
The Sketchbook, 100 Pages large size is the one worthy for pencil, pen, and watercolor. I suggest to prep the pages with gesso if you do a lot of washes though. The paper is very yellowish and smooth, almost no tooth. Overall really nice with a retro feel. Could be cheaper.
