For intensity and brilliance beyond compare, experience Mission Gold Watercolors by Mijello.
This line of 105 super-premium watercolors was designed with the help of expert watercolor artists to mirror the strong, vivid colors of nature. They're created by mixing the finest pigments from around the world with other components at the golden ratio. Paints are then matured in traditional Korean pots to achieve extraordinary color properties.
Use these lush paints directly on a dry palette. They disperse beautifully and evenly with water, with very little color shift from wet to dry. With more pigment and no thickener, a little color goes a long way. And with excellent lightfastness, your watercolor paintings will retain their original vivacity longer.
The Mission Gold line also includes two revolutionary whites — Chinese White and Titanium White — which behave how whites should.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

Great paints for filling portable palettes, vivid colors
Comments about Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors:
I love these paints. I ordered a couple of Mijello paint palettes and received a tube of these paints with each of them. I instantly became hooked on them once I tested them out.I've used cheap department store watercolor (daler rowney simply, fine touch) and slightly higher end paints (winsor & newton cotman) and once I saw the difference between those and the MiJello paints, I couldn't go back to anything less.Unlike any other watercolor paint I've tried, these paints stay sticky/tacky when put into a paint palette and left to dry to be used like watercolor pans. It takes no effort at all to re-wet them in the palette and they're very easy to mix, but that does come at the cost of having to be more careful not to contaminate the different colors, as they can't really be "cleaned off" like other watercolors can that dry harder in the pans. Cleaning the brush between every color is a necessity. But other than that, I absolutely love these paints.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

from River Forest, IL
I use these for my watercolor and and such brilliant and rich color I have never before seen. They are worth every penny. The flowers i paint are ready to be picked right off the page. They mix well and apply as smooth as can be done. You will be in for a great surprise.

best watercolors ever
from fremont, CA
these are my favorite watercolors. i received a sample of them with an order from blick a long time ago. when i tried them, i was immediately hooked. i received quite a few tubes as a gift and am really excited about using them. the colors are clear and bright, and intense. you only need a tiny amount of paint to get great color. i'm abstract expressionist, so i love that i can use lots of these paints to mix on the paper and great subtle effects.i would definitely recommend these watercolors to another artist!

Brilliant colors lots of pigment
By Sister Marie
from San Marcos, Ca
As I always do with new colors I began making a color chart. The colors are so a live with more pigment than I had expected. I little drop goes a long way. The binder is just right as it is very easy to blend or "play with" after drying. I was so pleased with the results I bought 30 more colors. The earth tones are wonderful. So pleased with the autumn red I just had to buy an extra tube. Did a fall painting with these first colors and am still smiling at how realistic the colors are.

Why Harsh Reviews on American Paint : )
By Artist # 147238
I think it's just great to see American companies making artists paints. One reviewer was rather harsh about the pigments used, there are MANY other well known well established companies who have odd pigments given a common name. One person said there's no cerulean in their cerulean blue. Blockx also does not use the standard pigment in their cerulean blue, and it also is not called a hue. I doubt it's meant to be misleading. I like the way these mission gold paints handle, and if my end customer loves the intensity of a color and that color has Rhodamine in it along with a more permanent Quinacridone pigment, at least as the Rhodamine looses it's visual punch, it will not turn brown, and the already intense Quinacridone will surely lessen the loss of the more fugitive Rhodamine. Artists should not abandon permanence issues, but consider IF your work is loved in the first 100 years, it will be kept lively and have its punch restored with more sophisticated methods than we currently use to preserve master works.

Opinions are like...Opinions
from New Lenox, IL
I have to sit back and have a laugh sometimes while reading reviews...it used to be the artists JOB to see past the label and see color for what it is. It's not the companies JOB to fit in with the perceived "norm" ...the artist should be aware of ALL possibilities within the available brands. Yes, this company has named some colors awkwardly. But I just think it's funny that Holbein has a turquoise blue with 4 different pigments including white, yet all the "artists" love Holbein. And about 60% of their colors have white in the mix! aureolin is not the same as W/N Oh No! .....SO WHAT? if the artist loves it and the buyer loves it and the buyer is AWARE you used a pigment others don't approve of...who cares. Artists should embrace all their color tools and express themselves without worrying if people approve. Isn't expression and exploration what art used to be about? We still buy Alizarin, yet people go nuts when a color is not like the rest! Go figure?

So much fun!
I was well aware of the lightfastness and pigment controversy surrounding these paints before I bought them. I decided to get the introductory set of nine tubes anyway, just to try out a nice range of colors. I'm actually very impressed! The paints do seem like they have a lot of dye compared to other popular brands. While this may hurt lightfastness, it makes the paints apply silky smooth, with very little material needed to achieve incredibly vibrant color. They feel like a cross between watercolor and ink, which is wonderful. I can get some gorgeous mixes and intense pops of color very easily. They would be great for illustration work, that needs to be vibrant and won't be exposed to light for very long. I'm having a ton of fun with these paints, and plan on purchasing a few more tubes. I am not sure I'd recommend them to a very serious colorist, since the pigments don't seem to follow the same guidelines as the most popular brands. But for most of us, they are worth a try! These paints have really livened up my palette and sparked new creativity. For what they are, they are worth every penny.
