Not Leakproof as advertised
from San Jose, CA
Comments about Martin Universal Design Mijello Airtight Leak-Proof Palettes:
I was super excited to get this palette because I thought it would be perfect for travel with its convenient size, ample mixing room with the removable mixing tray, and a perfect amount of wells, but I became really disappointed when my paint leaked through. I use the Mijello Palette to paint with gouache. One of the colors was more watery than normal, and when I closed the palette and used the seal lock, the paint came through and leaked outside of the palette and into the little crevice that holds the rubber that is meant to lock in the air in the palette, so I had to clean it all up. If it can't hold the paint in there I, know it also isn't airtight. Being neither airtight or leakproof, the palette did not serve the purpose I purchased this item for, so everything else I liked about it became insignificant.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Works as Advertised

The best think is no more dried out watercolor. No more hoping re-hydration works.

No more died out paints...
from Cuyahoga Falls OH
I have used the product but only for a few weeks. The rubber seal keeps the watercolor paints soft and ready to use. No more wasted paints because the palette did not keep the moisture inside the case.
The Perfect Palette!
from Ambler, Pa
Best palette to keep my acrylics wet because it is air tight and easy to use. Easy to open and close too. Going to get another!
Love this Palatte
from Charlotte, NC
I wanted to carry my honey based watercolors to work and needed a palette that was small enough to carry easily without being small. It also needed to be air light. I didn't want to worry about my expensive paints running out of an imperfectly made product. This one is perfect.

True Color Palette
Great price for a great palette. I purchased the 18 wells in fuschia (blue was sold out). The palette color itself is nice, not too bright.Wells are a good size and allow you to really load in a nice amount of paint at once. The mixing palettes are large, and the colors you see on the palettes are pretty much true to how it translates on paper. The largest palette is removable, though it takes a little finagling to get it out as it fits in the palette really well.I like the locking seal and latch. A good amount of paint and mixing space but doesn't take up too much space. I would still rather carry a smaller palette in the field if I'm moving about, but if I'm going to sit and paint for a minute and have a place to set this, this would be the one I'd use for sure.

Very good palettes
Fantastic palette for watercolors
from Kansas City
I may have already written one glowing review of these palettes, but now I have five of them, each set up with a different set of paint colors. I have two palettes for the colors my online painting instructors use, a landscape/seascape palette, a Jane Blundell "ultimate mixing palette," and one for my favorite paint colors that don't fit into the others. The palettes are reasonably priced, they offer a lot of mixing space, you can toss them into a tote bag without worry, they easily clean back to a new appearance with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and they each come with a tube of Mission Gold burnt sienna paint taped into them, so if you use a lot of different palettes as I do, you may never need to buy burnt sienna again. I highly recommend them.

There are enough wells to hold all my paint and they are quite large compared to other palettes that I own.And plenty of room for mixing colors, which is an added bonus!
Have Palette Will Travel
I got this palette while on sale. It was lower in price than with a coupon at a competitive retailer. I love this palette because it gives me a large varied travel palette that is light weight, 18 paint wells, good mixing areas, and closes tight but easily. It is plastic but seems to not stain. I love to put my D. Smith paints in it since my paints stay in the wells ready to be reconstituted easily since they never dry completely. Even dried paints stay a little moist with the airtightness of this palette.
