Welcome to dickblick
This is a professional line of oil paint formulated to the highest standards. These oils feature high pigment load and excellent mixing power. Color intensities replicate those of handcrafted, limited edition oils produced prior to the invention of the collapsible tube in the 1840s. The consistency is silky, not oily. This enables the artist to paint the thinnest layers or thick impasto brushstrokes with ease.
Using techniques dating back to the days of the Old Masters, Michael Harding creates powerful, intense colors of paint that are both beautiful and durable. No fillers or extenders are used, and no driers are added. This prevents brittleness, cracking, and wrinkling. Because there are no driers, these oils may take longer to cure, particularly in thick applications. To optimize curing time, set your painting in a warm room with good sunlight.
All colors but one in the line are ground in a grade of refined cold pressed linseed oil that is chosen for its neutral acidity to ensure permanence. Titanium White No. 1 is ground in safflower oil.

Beautifully made Oil Paints
High pigment load, creamy consistency, great selection of whites including fast drying Titanium. These are professional grade quality paints at a reasonable price.

One of the best
By Ayahuasca Visions

I love these oil colors. I feel like Harding does everything right -- nothing but pigment and oil, maximum pigment load, and an emphasis on classic colors with no "hues" or substitutes. I put them in the same category as Old Holland and the better Williamsburg colors, which I use along with Harding paints because they are comparable in strength and consistency. I only wish they had a full range of mars colors.

NOW I get it!
from SW Lousiana
I've always used only artist grade paint regardless of what medium I'm working in, so I wasn't expecting anything significantly better than what I've always worked with (W&N, Rembrandt, Gamblin etc.)....but I'm happy to report that my expectations were greatly exceeded! The difference isn't evident in the colors they produce or the end result...no, it's in the way they handle and the consistency. It's subtle and not something a beginning oil painter would (or could) notice and appreciate....and that holds true for brushes and surfaces. However, the prices aren't outrageous like most other premium paint...so there's no reason anyone shouldn't switch...except now I recommend novice's to experiment with the other more mainstream brands so when they DO try MH paint, they'll appreciate the difference and "get it" like I do now :-)

When using the paint and mixing the colors to get just the right painting consistency, I love how it contributes to both the slick back layer effect and the raised texture effect that I'm going for in my landscape paintings. Because I enjoy this medium and brand so much and because I'm in need of it on such a regular basis, I wish that it came at a more affordable price.

I only recently switched to oils from acrylic, and started using Michael Harding oils. So far I really like working with them. I decided to try his products after reading up about them on his site.

I have been using Michael Harding oils for a few years by now. I love their beautiful flow and vibrancy. Admittedly, they are not cheap, but very much worth the price, in my opinion.

Micahel Harding's Artists Oil Paint
from San Jose California
This product is for the professional or those discerning artists that want to use the best tools available. With 45 years experience, having used quite a few of the competitions products, this is convincingly the very finest pigment available. The colors are consistent and intense every time.
A fantastic line of paints
Michael Harding's oil paints are really fantastic. They make up about 70% of my palette - they are relatively affordable and high in pigment. I would recommend them highly to any oil painter.
