Painter's Pal has an air-tight lid, a removable tray with 5 air-tight paint storage cups, plus a cup for turpentine or mineral spirit solvents. It ships with one sponge insert and 5 sheets of acrylic palette film. For oils, use disposable paper pad.

The overall size of Painter's Pal is 13" × 12½" (33 cm × 32 cm). Palette size is 9" × 12" (23 cm × 30.5 cm).

Paint Cups — These plastic containers have air-tight lids, and are ideal for holding everything from water-based paint to beads. Each cup stores ¾ oz, and measures 1½" diameter × 1" deep. Each package contains 20 cups and lids.

Solvent Cups — Store turpentine, brush cleaner, or any paints in these sturdy lidded containers. Ten ½ oz cups per package. Cups measure 1½" diameter × ¾" deep.

I use the larger red staywet Masterson which is cumbersome to carry around so I bought this smaller one when I need to travel. Great size to mix paints (I use the inside of the cover to mix colors that don't need to be active for a long time) and the containers are really useful. The container side also completely comes out so you can use that section to carry brushes, writing utensils, painting knives, etc. The plastic cups are all disposable plastic cups except for one. Excellent if you have to travel (including daily travel).

I have been painting for decades. Using acrylic and fabric paints can be very frustrating because of the rapid dry time. This palette saves you time because it saves your mixes and it also saves money because you're not throwing out dried up paint. I recommend this product to anyone who uses a water based quick dry medium.

This Masterson is perfect for travel to class or outdoor use. It is lightweight, relatively small and has sealed containers for acrylic or oil paint transport. I have had mine for two months with the same paints in the containers and everything is moist on the inside paper or trays when I am ready to finish a painting.

I ordered the pal palette, sponge insert, film insert, and extra paint cups.

After opening/seeing/using the paint cups, I don't see how they are "air tight". They are exactly like little ketchup containers you might get at a fast food place.

Seeing this, I decided to get the regular Masterson's palette, without the cups. I think the regular Masterson's palette will keep my acrylic paints moist better than the cups and I like the bigger size of the regular Masterson's palette.

Don't know about oils, so it's possible this might be a good fit for them.
