I really love this masking fluid. Mainly because of the applicator tip. No more ruining paint brushes. This bottle has a nice tip that makes outlining or applying small amounts very easy. Then the cap has a pin in in that inserts in the tube when you close it up. It keeps the applicator tip cleaned out for the next use. It was also easy to remove. I actually covered quite a large area because I was painting several birch trees. It working quite nicely! I did have to leave it overnight to dry since I did such a large area but smaller area dry quickly.

Very cleverly designed product
from New York and California
I have used this fine line masking fluid on multiple watercolors for the past 2 years and just purchased a refill. The tip is a very fine hollow tube that you must very CAREFULLY insert the meddle into before screwing on the cap. This prevents the fluid from drying out in the tube and keeps it clean. It does take a bit of practice to control flow, but I find thick areas easy to paint down if necessary. Great for any painting that requires delicate highlights or distinct white areas to remain without pigment. I find this product indispensable and have recommended to many others.

Masque pen and spillage
By V by RV
from Keene Nh
The delivery bottle on this product has a deflect and it leaks on the paper . I was also expecting to draw lines however the fluid flows too fast or too slow and the result is not what I expected. Removing it was a disaster but maybe that was my fault. Wasn't dry enough.Haven't entirely given up .
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good Product, Needs Remover

This product does what it says it will do, however the edges of the line's, no matter how thin or wide, the application, are not straight. The removal of the product is aggrivating. It pulls into strings. It can be wound around your fingers and pulled up rather than using a rubber cement eraser. There is no product information on use, other than application on dry paper only.

Fluid is great, delivery system is terrible.
I was really excited to work in some fine detail in my watercolor work with these nibs. After the first time using them, I cleaned the nibs thoroughly and then used the needle tool provided and the needle tool bent. It's virtually impossible to keep them clean without it. I've tried everything I had on hand, but I only got about two paintings use out of the entire pack because of the needle tool bending.

Masquepen - A Great Masking Fluid Pen
Love this masking fluid pen. It's great for fence posts, grasses, window trim, highlights, etc. Be sure to squeeze the bottle gently.... and clean off the pen head occassionally as you work with it so you won't wind up with blobs.Of course if one needs absolute precision thin marks and lines, using masking fluid with a very fine brush can't be beat. I use both methods; the masquepen for some things and a brush with other masking fluid depending on the size area that needs to be masked. But all in all, I like having the Masquepen amidst my watercolor supplies. Just be sure to close it properly and it won't dry out. At least mine hasn't.
exactly what I have been searching for.

great for a layered technique
from north central panhandle Florida
There's a watercolor technique I use that is applied in layer upon layer upon layer. Usually the painting is flowers of some kind in a very grassy field. Before I begin I mask the flowers and blades of tall grasses. After it dries I layer more thin and thicker blades of grass. After that dries I add another layer of grasses. From beginning to end each successive coat is a darker hue. When everything is dry and you remove the mask you have countless grasses of different hues. These bottles make the streaking SO MUCH EASIER than having to dip and make a streak, dip and make a streak. Well worth the money!
