Comments about Marvelous Marianne's SkinSafer Barrier Cream:
I use this cream for working with pastels and acrylics. While the feel of the cream is unobtrusive, I can tell it is on my hands, which is nice because I know when to reapply. It smells quite nice as well. I am very pleased with this product.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

All aspects as advertised: truly non-greasy, skin-saving moisturizing temporary barrier. Allows me more ease when I use the somewhat dangerous pigments that I love so much.

Great Hand Protection!
from Gwinn, Michigan
I use this product on my fingers/hands just before diving into my artwork with acrylic paints and it has made a huge difference when cleaning up the paint off of my hands, it comes right off! Also I like that it creates a barrier to stop the paint from absorbing into my skin thus protecting me from getting any toxins from the paint into my system. If I wash my hands in the middle of painting, I reapply a very small amount (which is all that is needed) and it dries very quickly. Since I only need a small amount to get the desired effect, it is also very economical. I can't say anything negative about it, I am very happy with this product all around!

Having tried other products for protecting my hands from the oil paints that I use daily, I have found Skin Safer to be the best. It protects the skin, even around the nails. A major benefit I noticed was Skin Safer does not dry your skin, the way some competing products do.

As primarily a pastel artist, I find that there is no other product that is as good at being a glove-free skin-barrier, allowing me complete freedom and easy clean up.I begin all art projects with a coating of this barrier absorbed easily into my skin, and can proceed to get my fingers in the art as my heart desires. It allows for an easy dry paper towel cleanup as I go along -even with pastels and oil paint! And once I am ready for a serious hand cleaning, (like to take a break for food) it comes completely clean with a quick soap/water wash. And the hand and brush cleaner(s) in Maryanne's product line are also a must-have in any art space of mine for the same reasons.
Does the Job

I work with acrylic paints and inks. I also use acrylic mediums for mixed media art work. I have used this product for several years and take it with me to art workshops on a regular basis. I always end up sharing when other participants see how easily the paint, glues, and inks wash off my hands at the end of the sessions. It is a natural barrier cream that really works--use a small amount as it goes a long way.
love it! but...
