Welcome to dickblick
This environmentally friendly cleaner safely removes oil and acrylic paints, ink, and pastels from brushes and hands. It restores bristles even on hardened brushes, yet it's safe on art and craft materials.
SavvySoap is great for classroom cleanup after art projects. The earth-friendly, skin-safe formula contains corn and/or cottonseed oil, aloe, glycerin and lanolin. It's biodegradable, non-toxic, and it smells great!
SavvySoap can also be used as a laundry pre-spotter to remove grease from clothing. Photographers use it to remove the lingering smell of fixer and developer from their hands.

Comments about Marvelous Marianne's SavvySoap Cleaners:
Smells good, is easy on my hands and does a good job of cleaning the brushes. You do need to rinse it out completely or it can leave some oil in the brush

I am a printmaker and the SavvySoap does a really good job of removing ink stains from my hands and clothing.
Good for oils

A fellow classmate at Munson kept bringing in a little dish of this stuff and sharing it with the class. He said it was such a bargain he didn't mind everyone using his batch, and a little went a long way (about a dozen people cleaned multiple brushes without using up his little dish's worth). It worked so well I had to get some for myself!

I love this soap for cleaning my brushes. My husband uses it to clean his hands after working on the cars. An added bonus is it smells good. I couldn't find it here in town at any of the other art supply stores so I was grateful that I could find it at Dick Blick, and the price was much better than I would have paid if it was here in town so I bought two bottles.

This is one of the best products in my studio.
Has increased the life of my brushes..

I like the liquid brush cleaner.. does not break up into smaller pieces like the solid cleaners as these age. Removes oil paints, cleans and conditions the brushes very well. My brushes have lasted longer than with other cleaners.
New product for me
from Beavercreek, OH
Since I paint with oil paints, cleanup is very important to me. This product worked great with its bit of grittiness which helped to clean my brushes quickly & left them feeling soft & clean & ready for my next painting session, knowing they were cleansed of all paint debris. Fast & easy cleanup!
The best brush cleaner..

I use it for my oil and acrylic brush cleaning. This liquid cleaner has maintained my brushes really well. I like it better than some of the solid ones better. The solid brush cleaners flake and break into pieces after a while. And this one is eco friendly.

Since this is the only brush soap I've used, I can't compare it to any others. A dime sized amount will clean oil paint out of brushes and have extra left over. Also gets paint off of the sink.
This + Caligo Safe Wash Inks = Match Made in Heaven
By Paul G

I had tried using normal hand soap and also vegetable oil to clean up Caligo Safe Wash Inks, but was frustrated with the process. Neither would break down the ink in the pre-water cleaning stage, which lead to the ink staining my (unfortunately white) kitchen sink... I almost gave up on Caligo after a few failed attempts to clean up this ink without stains... Then I found someone recommending this product. SO GLAD that I did. You can apply a little of the SavvySoap to a rag and remove 99% of the Safe Wash Ink before rinsing away water at the last step. I also rub a little in my sink before cleaning to repel any ink that might get on it. The soap smells great and doesn't leave a residue like using straight oil. So pleased with this cleaner!
