Sturdy. Easy to assemble. Easy to adjust height and tilt. I like to stand over my work for sketching and sit for detail work. This table is ideal for both positions.

Sturdy, Easy to assemble.
from Northwest USA
This drafting/drawing table is very sturdy, came with simple assembly directions, all parts were in the box. Took about 35 minutes to assemble. In order to attach the top the directions call for attaching hinges to frame first. I found that in order to assemble by myself without help, that it was easier to attach them to the table top first and using a drill/driver that held screws magnetically, that I could hold the top in position and start the screws into the base. This is not the absolute high end product, but for the price I'm delighted.
MXZ, a great table and such a reasonable
The College I attend has 3 different drawing tables in the classrooms, I loved the MXZ, the other two were from a different manufacturer and they are shaky and missing parts. So ordered this table from you. It went together so easily. I am studying Architecture and doing some graphic design on the side. I like the open design, the little shelf on the back and the easy adjustments. I love my new table, Thank you Dick Blick! Oh, I just noticed the same company that made my table also made my parallel. My instructor says it is the best. It is aluminum body. My friend wants one but we did not see it on your site.

About Me Artist, Designer, Teacher
I bought this table for the following reasons:1. Inexpensive2. Easy to adjust angle (or so I thought)3. With the "L" shaped base, I imagined this desk (when combined w/my drafting chair, small carts, and other sundries, that I always have cluttered around the perimeter of my drafting desk) would allow for a much smaller footprint, as I would be able to shove the aforementioned chair, etc., underneath. This table now lives in a landfill — the Goodwill would not even take it.The quality is the worst I have ever seen:1. The "particle board coated w/melamine" - the manufacturer must have skimped on the glue for the particle board as it has the strength and durability of about 3 cheap cork boards stacked together.2. The frame is flimsy - the 'book-shelf' is more of a "ledge", whose only purpose can be to display 4 magazines face out. In addition, the metal is so thin, that just by removing it from the box the 'book shelf' and outer edges became dented.Impossible to put together:1. They do not tell you that the top board is actually attached to the "base" (a single metal bar) - primarily by using 3 hinges.2. The 3 hinges provided by the manufacturer are too small - in my folly and determination not to let this desk get the better of me, I purchased 3 correct sized hinges (ok... yes, I'm a bit stubborn at times - like a dog w/a bone).3. After 4 days, and begging (ok... bribing) my room-mate to help me, the BEAST was assembled. 4 hours later it was disassembled, and I was trying to convince the Goodwill that someone might want it.After assembly: Adjustments are nigh on impossible — the only exception being when the desk 'adjusted' on its own — suddenly and violently. The 'footprint' is HUGE (see prior comment re: adjustment). The desk I ordered came with both casters and floor levelers. I stuck the casters on first (primarily because I was building the monster in the spare bedroom, and wanted to make it as easy as possible to move it out into the Living (well, Studio) room. Was the joke ever on me. The only way to get the desk through the door was to take it apart again! Did I mention that this desk is a BEAST – think T-Rex.I would not only NOT recommend this to a friend or acquaintance - I would not even wish this desk on my worst enemy.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Martin Universal Design requested we post the following response on their behalf: “We were very surprised and disappointed to read the experiences of Imaginart. The pressed wood board covered by melamine is the same as we sell on many styles of our drawing tables without quality issues. Our hinges are life tested for well over 10,000 flexes and we have sold hundreds of thousands of tables each year with these identical hinges without problems. The MXZ with the top in a vertical position will easily fit through a standard 30 inch door. Smaller doors might require moving-in before installing the top work surface.” – Martin Universal Design
