Welcome to dickblick
The Manchester Hobby Table is just the thing for drawing and crafts of all kinds. Its versatile split-top design features a 24"L × 20”W (61 cm × 51 cm) tilt top that adjusts to a 45° angle, and a 12"L × 20"W (30 cm × 51 cm) fixed-top section. Both sides feature a durable melamine surface.
A spacious single side drawer conveniently stores drawing materials, craft supplies, and other essentials, while a detachable trough keeps drawing materials and small tools close at hand. The table's heavy steel four-post construction features a white enamel finish.
Fully assembled, the table measures 36"L × 30"H × 20"W (91 cm × 76 cm × 51 cm). The side drawer measures 15-1/2"L × 2-5/8"H × 7-5/8"W (39 cm × 7 cm × 19 cm).
Minor assembly is required.

Good table, a lot of work to put together
Comments about Martin Universal Design Manchester Hobby Table:
This table takes a lot of work to put together. Not all the parts are labeled and the beams can be screwed together at the wrong points giving you extra work. A good thing to pay attention to is how the front and back top beams go together. The holes need to line up to create the drawer and the holes for the hinges need to go in the front so the top can lift towards you. The table is attractive and sturdy. I've been able to get more work done with a smaller table because the size has made me focus more. The surface of the table cleans up very well. I've drawn and sculpted on this table.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I like it

This table is great for small spaces and I love the way half goes up while the other half holds my pallet. It was not that easy to put together as the table parts weren't labeled and what was labeled in the instructions was not showing all the pre-drilled holes so you can't tell one small white rectangular piece from another. The instructions I found online were no better as their more detailed photos of the table legs were not the same as mine (different holes). I the end, there was one photo on the 2nd or 3rd page of the instructions in the box that was showing a detail of the table, from which I was able to deduce what piece went in the back and which went in the front and how it was supposed to be attached. Then I kept figuring out which piece went where from there. Another problem was the holes under the main table were not in a place that would have allowed both the stationary top and the flip top to line up when down so I had to drill new holes to make sure they aligned. Then the bracket to raise and lower the table took two people to place and angularly drill the screws I because they weren't lining up. In the end you can't see those problems and the table looks good and works for me, my place, and my work - so I like it. Just have a Cup of tea, a drill (for drilling new holes and screwing in screws), a friend, and a couple hours to put it together.
Hard to assemble

I use the table for colored pencil and charcoal drawings. It is a nice size for small spaces. The only bad thing I have to say is that it was hard assembling. The parts were not marked with letters and so it was very hard understanding what went where.
NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
like i said not for the faint of heart, once it's together not bad at all. a few problems getting it together,do like the other review said and get the pdf
Unhappy with product
The mechanism that the drafting table inclines on is not very well built; because there are no guide mechanisms, when inclined the surface wobbles and has a good deal of give. Not usable.. very frustrated with this purchase.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I just assembled this table. One difficulty in assembling was the unclear pictures in the instructions that were included. I strongly suggest that you Google "Manchester Split-top Table" and find the PDF file. Those pictures are VERY clear and make a big difference. I have not used it yet but it appears to be more stable than other knock-down furniture I have used.
Excellent ONCE ASSEMBLED
Once assembled, this table is just the ticket for doing smaller sized oil paintings! Emphasis on once assembled -- Note to Manufacturer:(1)Part A, B, C,... on assembly instructions needs the addition of corresponding A, B, C,... stick-on labels on the actual parts to assemble, as you have successfully done with the hardware (2) Go digital with photos -- photocopier photos are too dark!
