The set features a collection of earthtones, including three Greens, two Browns, and Gray. Bright accents, including Red, Yellow, and Orange, bring splashes of color to a field of flowers or fall foliage. And, as with all Marshall's Photo Oil pencils, the colors are easy to blend — or make the colors really flow with a bit of medium. Modern Set — Chosen from a palette of the modern art era, this selection of colors evokes images of mid‑century paintings and the colors of the 1940s and 1950s. They're perfect for wartime photographs, or for recreating the film noir look that is reminiscent of Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks." Darker Blues, muted earthtones, Gray, and Black form the deep tones and shadows, while the light colors veer toward sunset colors of Lemon, Orange, and Cherry. This group of pencils offers artists a great range to bring punch to vintage photographs, or to create a new modern masterpiece.
