Black color spray
from Bucks Co, PA
Comments about Marabu Art Spray:
After shaking the bottle for about 15 seconds, I sprayed the black color onto a 12" tree stencil. It started out great, but soon began to spray only blotches and drips. Since it's water soluble, I think I'll water it down a bit and pour it into a spray bottle that will spray the way it should. It's a shame b/c it's a good, opaque, black color, but it's the spray bottle that's the problem. I'll be ordering more supplies from Blick, b/c of their great prices & service, but not this Mixed Media Art Spray.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These sprays are easy to use, have great pigment and NEVER clog like all the other sprays on the market. I love that they are permanent when dry so you can write over them with any pen or marker. Perfect to add layers to your gelli prints. Can be used with all types of paper. I love to add the cocoa one to glazing medium. Mixing with gesso or modeling paste is a dream. I just wish they carried all the colors.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A SPRAY YOU CAN USE IN THE HOUSE. BEFORE IT SETS UP YOU CAN SPREAD IT WITH A BRUSH OR LET THE TEXTURE OF THE SPRAY REMAIN. STAYS PERMANENT AS SOON AS IT DRIES, SOME COLORS ARE MORE TRANSLUCENT THAN OTHERS.

"CHUTES AND LADDERS" MIXED MEDIA
not worth the time money and materials
from Salt Lake City
I thought this was just what I was looking for and looked forward to using them with my art group. I bought several colors for an afternoon of art fun but what a disaster! The spray bottles were inconsistent spraying in a halo or splatters; the blue colors seemed to be the worst. I wanted something more opaque than Tim Holtz sprays and the Marabu are but I won 't use them again.

Problems with the spray bottles
By Lifelong Hobbyist and Craftswoman
I have been obsessed with stencils and water-based sprays, happily turning out lovely pieces. I had been wishing for a more permanent spray paint for various projects, so when I saw the Marabu, I jumped at the chance to buy a set. They started out great, with bright colors, and clean, sharp lines. I was pleased. However, after eating lunch and going back for round two, the paint had dried around the spray hole and would not spray. I tried clearing them with washing, with brushing, and finally with needles into the holes. What a chore. I had to replace several of the spray tops after one use. The same problem occurs each time I've tried to use them. Also, sometimes it sprays in a halo instead of a focal point. All in all, these are more troublesome because of the time factor in cleaning the spray tip frequently, often without much success.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this spray. If you find yourself with a clogged nozzle, remove it from the bottle and soak it in rubbing alcohol for 10-15 minutes, then try spraying the alcohol through the nozzle. You may have to repeat this more than once, but the alcohol will dissolve the acrylic and restore the nozzle. To prevent clogging, spray alcohol or water through the nozzle to clear it after each session of use. If we can be of further assistance, we hope you'll give us a call at 1-800-933-2542 or email email@example.com. Product Specialists are available weekdays from 8am to 5:30pm CST, and they're happy to troubleshoot!
I love this stuff!
Awesome! Looks super cool when finished. It works great with stencils, except that it takes a while to dry. Overall, pretty great.

The spray is a little heavier than I had hoped but it is interesting stuff.

Fun with Spray Paint
from North Branford, CT
The paint itself is super nice. You can mix colors over one another while parts are still drying. It definitely takes a little longer to dry than regular spray paint or airbrush paint. There is some degree of challenge working with stencils because if you don't spray lightly enough, the stencil needs to be weighted down and left to dry for a time before going to the next layer. I ordered 5 of these paints in my shipment and the ones that have given me the most challenge are the metallics. The silver doesn't spray out of the bottle after one use (and I did rinse it with water like it says on the bottle, but I'm going to need something a little stronger to clear it). The gold you have to shake A LOT to get the pigment to mix with the solution. The gold is also definitely a warm gold. All of the colors look different as they dry, so don't depend on the way something looks directly after you spray it to be the final result.
