Great color saturation
from Fallbrook, Ca
Comments about Maimeri Brera Artist Acrylics:
I really enjoy the depth of the reds, oranges. The color of the cadmium lemon yellow is great, but not digging the texture of it...would like to find a similar color in golden open acrylics
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Lots of pigment
Never felt like I had to "go over again" to get the solid look I wanted for the painting. Uniform consistency, good flow, but not gooey. I will order more from this manufacturer.

Best acrylics I've Ever Used
By E. Melinda
from Fort Worth, TX
When I was traveling in Italy a couple of years ago, I ran out of my name brand acrylics in a couple of colors. I found an art store in Sienna and was introduced to Maimeri Brera Acrylics. Amazing colors and pigmentation with a buttery feeling when you paint with them. When I went back to the States, I looked for them and found Dick Blick was the only site to carry them. I was so thankful as they are made in Italy. Once you use these acrylics, you will never use any others!!! They are a comparable price with the highest quality.
Solid Coverage - Excellent Pigmentation
from Burlington, Kentucky
I'm in love with the viscosity of the Maimeri Brera Artist Acrylics. They were recommended to me by another artist and I thought "sure and they'll be just like many other brands on the market". I was wrong. The pigmentation is heavy in these acrylics easily allowing opaque coverage on canvas. After using these tube acrylics, I don't see myself going back to acrylics containing less pigmentation. My friend was right.
Wonderful consistency and color!

Acrylics are still quite new to me; however, I've find that as an oil painter I look for them to perform near to what I expect in oils. I love the brilliance of acrylics and the consistency of them. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised to finish a painting with them and like the result much better than those I do in oils.

Comments about Maimeri Brera Acrylic Sets:
I almost wish I hadn't tried them because now I want to use them exclusively just as when I tried the Maimeri watercolor paints.

Used this art class and the teacher said she had bought it with your company. I placed an order right away.

I was in Italy when i ran across these acrylics in a small art store there. I bought a few and then when got back to the States immediately bought more. They are creamy, heavy in pigmentation and put other acrylics to shame. I will not use any other acrylics

First off I'm by no means a pro level painter. I've worked a little with watercolors but I'm normally a pencil and ink, comic book style artist.I wanted to try some artist grade acrylics, so I bought Brera's primary set of 5 colors, and a couple other tubes from top brands that I was also very pleased with. Overall from the few brands I've tried Brera stacks up to the competition.Their colors mix well and have a nice vibrant look to them without being overly glossy or too matte of a finish. If I want a more glossy or matte finish,or to thicken the paint up I use Golden brand gel.Brera paint is fairly versatile it's great for doing washes, you can get that watercolor look if you add enough water.Though some of their colors are not as opaque as Golden paint,I found certain colors I mixed white with red or blue, so pinks, lavenders, sky blue colors had excellent covering ability while other colors did not.Overall I think Golden paints are a little more opaque, but I think it's good to use different brands, mix it up.Brera is also reasonably priced paint and worth a try.
FIne quality, some unique colors
Most brands of artist grade acrylics are good, but in different ways. Maimeri seem to work better than most for painting translucent acrylic layers in a watercolor technique. This is subjective of course, but I thin them with water and get a very thin but strongly colored veil of color that I can't achieve with some of the heavier acrylics. These work in thicker applications too, but I prefer Golden or Liquitex for that purpose. Again, it's all subjective:). Another thing I like is that Maimeri has some colors that are a bit different.I really love the green gold in particular. It's a surprisingly useful mixing color, as well as being beautiful on its own. Also, the Maimeri primary hues are distinctive and useful, especially if you are designing for four-color printing. I have no dislikes about this product, other than not being available where I live.
