Welcome to dickblick
Maimeri was founded in 1923 by noted Italian impressionist painter, Gianni Maimeri, who was searching to satisfy his own burning desire for artistic excellence in paint.
The result of his passion is a line of highly concentrated, lightfast watercolors with performance unlike most of their mass-produced counterparts. Every color is made with the best binder available — a gum-arabic from Kordofan, in the Sudan region. The result is an almost completely clear and elastic medium, totally soluble in water, yielding the purest and most brilliant tones.
Choose from an outstanding palette of 72 colors set in 15 ml individual tubes and experience the rich tradition of colors like those treasured by ancient masters and appreciated by modern Italian painters for more than 80 years.

Often overlooked but excellent quality paints.
The Maimeri Blu Burnt Sienna is a true PBr7 with excellent lightfastness and a wonderful transparent quality. It is not a synthetic iron oxide which I find too red or a mixed color that complicates mixing. Also, it is not chalky or bland, as some other major brands seem to be. Maimeri paints seem to be overlooked by some professionals because they tend to be less expensive but they are not cheap.I buy the best watercolors I can get on a per color basis- not the most expensive.

I have been using this paint for years now and find it to be consistent in quality. If left on the palette to dry, a little spritz of water and within minutes you have a nice creamy tube consistency. A solid value for the price!
I love this paint.

Maimeri paints are one of the best.

As only using Maimeri watercolors for only a short time I feel that they are a stronger in there color value then some of the other products. I'm trying to find my way as to who I think has the best product for what I want and the cost.
Love these watercolors!

I prefer these watercolors. The colors are viberant and remain moist over a long period. The disadvantage is that there is not the range in the reds that you might want for floral watercolors.

Best for intensity and transparency
I bought only colors that are transparent, so I can't comment on the cadmiums or the heavier earth tones. Dick Blick is a site that offers the technical aspects of the paints they sell, which is important to me.

I am excited to try these premium paints for all my paintings since they are so valued by all artists I have met who use them and at this price I think they are a real bargain!
