Maimeri was founded in 1923 by noted Italian impressionist painter, Gianni Maimeri, who was searching to satisfy his own burning desire for artistic excellence in paint.

The result of his passion is a line of highly concentrated, lightfast watercolors with performance unlike most of their mass-produced counterparts. Every color is made with the best binder available — a gum-arabic from Kordofan, in the Sudan region. The result is an almost completely clear and elastic medium, totally soluble in water, yielding the purest and most brilliant tones.

Choose from an outstanding palette of 72 colors set in 15 ml individual tubes and experience the rich tradition of colors like those treasured by ancient masters and appreciated by modern Italian painters for more than 80 years.

Try Out Set — A great mini assortment for the beginning painter, or those who would like a sampling of Maimeri's brilliant line of watercolors. these paints are supposed t obe the companies top professional line of watercolors--you could have fooled me. For about the same price I can and I do--do better.

These paints are right up there with some of the more expensive brands. Perhaps the tinting strengths and pigment loads could be a little higher--but for the price I like them and I use them often. I like how they do not dry up in the pan too!

I LOVE these. Got the 24 half pan set today and love the intensity of color, quick brush pick up of pigment and the subtle gradation from dark to light of each color. I am SO pleased with these and feel they will last a long time as well.

I adore these paints! I was using another well-known brand, but was tired of the paints drying and cracking in my palette. I was worried about my brushes being damaged by all the scrubbing I had to do...even when I spritzed the colors ahead of time. With Maimeri, I don't even really need to spritz...the colors become luscious with just a swipe of my brush...EVEN if I can't get to painting for several weeks!

I started out using W&N Artist Watercolors and they are great. But I love the creamy consistency of the MaimeriBlu Watercolors and the colors are very rich. Handprint rates these as one of the top 4 including Maimeri, W&N, Daniel Smith and M. Graham. The price is very reasonable.... Great paints.

Liked the consistency of this paint.It is also very permanent.My only critic is that it dosen't flow onto the palette very well with water and requires a little extra mixing.

I started out buying cheap student grade watercolors. The results caused me to reconsider art as a hobby. I followed Sterling Edwards instructions perfectly but ended up w/poor results. After hearing most of the artist at Art Academy Live state one should buy the best paint they could afford I purchased Maimeri Blu. The cost for 14 colors wasn't as bad as I thought plus I got free brushes. The results now are outstanding! The better paint made the difference.
