Magic Color Liquid Acrylic Inks are made for the most discerning artists.
The vibrant Magic Color range offers an unlimited palette of colors for brush, pen, or airbrush. Waterproof when dry, the colors can be used straight from the bottle or diluted to create pastel effects or watercolor washes. They also can be built up layer by layer to change mood, increase depth, or change the color completely.
An easy-to-use eye-dropper stopper allows for exact, easy application of color. All colors are inter-mixable, non-clogging, water-resistant, and fade-resistant.
Use this fluid to clean airbrushes, technical pens, brushes, and pens after using Magic Color Liquid Acrylic Inks. The non-clogging fluid comes in a glass bottle with a pipette applicator.

Magic Color Liquid Ink

Comments about Magic Color Liquid Acrylic Ink:
I love the intensity of the color. One that I purchased is white. Fantastic! It not only flows beautifully but it also holds its color! That is the magic! I will certainly be buying this again and in many colors.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Nice strong pigment.
from Suwanee, GA
The flesh tone is basically orange but look nice when watered down. This strong orange should last a long time.

very opaque white ink
I've used Magic Color for years. For a while it was impossible to get. I like it so much I even tried to contact the company in England to buy it when Dickblick didn't have it anymore - looked like they had gone out of business. Now they're back! YEAH! None of the white inks I tried after this one were as satisfactory. It's opaque consistency is perfect for lightening color inks, and it covers over areas on my paintings completely in just a couple applications. This is a must have for any pen and ink artist. Just wish I could get it in the 250ml size it used to come in!

meh, not my favorite
from Beaverton, OR
I am an ink fanatic. Though not a calligrapher, I write a LOT in journals. I have never found a pen I like and prefer to use dip inks and nibs. I have tried several brands of ink and am always excited when I find a new brand to experiment with. Features I look for in ink are acid free, permanent, waterproof, lightfast, etc. That means no dye inks - pigments only. The 2 brands that I favor are Daler Rowney FW Acrylic Ink and Dr Ph Martin's Bombay India Ink. I thought this Magic Color Ink would be similar and fun to try. I have to say I am not impressed at all. Compared to the other 2 brands mentioned, they kinda suck. They are very weak in pigment load and look watery, with very little vibrance and richness in comparison to the others. Not only that, but they absorb into the paper far too readily, kind of like writing on a napkin with a Sharpie - s p r e a d! Where the other brands are bright, bold and crisp, the Magic Color spreads fuzzily and looks weak. Made me want to go back over my letters again, but then it would be even sloppier and take longer. Nah. Obviously results would vary depending on what type of paper is used. Maybe if I got a special non-bleed paper, I'd be less annoyed. But FW and Dr Ph Martin's work on "regular paper" with no spreading the choice is clear. Why buy special paper? I probably will try other papers because I hate any ink to be rendered useless. It just means I won't use the Magic Color for my journals, which is essentially all I use ink for.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good Quality Ink
I used this ink in a color class and love the way it flows onto paper and while it dries fast it doesn't dry so fast that it becomes streaky. I am, like the first reviewer, very glad to see it here because I have been unable to get it anywhere else.

I'm so glad to see Dick Blick carry Magic Color! I use this ink in a Rotring ArtPen, which has an ink feed that is designed to be taken apart for easy cleaning. If using this ink in a fountain pen, you'll want to flush the nib regularly (don't let the ink dry in a fountain pen). You'll probably want a designated ink converter per color as this ink tends to stain the ink converter permanently. This ink is highly permanent, dries lightning-fast, is highly waterproof and highly fadeproof (I've done sunshine tests on written samples of Earth Brown, Sepia, Rust and Delta Violet and none of them has any fading after a year in a sunny window). Highly recommended! I hope Dick Blick will consider carrying the larger 250 ml sized bottles.
