Artist and master paintmaker Art Graham put years of experience at other companies behind him and started his own business based on his own vision and values. The result is a paint, manufactured without fillers or additives, that goes back to some of oil painting's finest traditions.

Graham creates fine artist oils in small batches, using his knowledge to bring out the finest color from each pigment! Each color is rich and saturated, with the highest possible mass tone and tinting strength. Most colors are based on a single pigment.

Art Graham took his new colors back to the roots of oil painting in Italy and Flanders by using walnut oil as a binder. Walnut oil has been used interchangeably with linseed oil for over a thousand years. It flows more freely, and has less tendency to crack or yellow. Today it is known that Renaissance masters such as Da Vinci and Dürer generally favored walnut oil over linseed oil.

Very slow drying paint

Be careful this paint takes FOREVER to dry. I love working with the paint it is everything its advertised BUT you had better be prepared to add 2 months to your drying time. I used the paint on a painting I did 1 month ago and it is still not dry to the touch. Can't use it!

Professional Grade Oils

I have been using M. Graham watercolors for the past 2 years for illustrations I've needed to do at work and use them for personal projects as well. I'm pleased with the quality. Recently I got a freelance job that is requiring more control than I have when I use watercolor. Having used oils in art school 20 years ago, I decided that I would use them for this project. If I had the money to buy expensive professional grade paints, I wouldn't be taking on extra work.
The other illustrators I work with and I had been talking about M. Graham oils because the health benefits. Because of my satisfaction with the watercolors, the great price and the affordability I tried them. I bought 9 tubes and the walnut oil.
This is the highest quality oil paint I've used. Period.
It flows beautifully, it blends fantastically. When I get to a better place financially, I will buy more of these and resume my fine art endeavors in oils in addition to the other mediums I use currently.
For the price, your health, and the quality, I can't see why anyone would want to use any other paint! I'm amazed.

Walnut oil gives longer working time, more luster when "dry," superior flow characteristics, greater longevity from an archival period of time point of view. Pigment load is incredible---they intend it to be higher than anyone else on the market and from what I've seen I believe it. no additives or fillers just pigment and walnut oil (safflower for select whites). Also, it is possible to work completely non-toxic with these paints and oils in general: clean your brushes with walnut oil. Use two brush cleaners, one for the worst of the pigment load the other for final cleaning. Also, colors are the same across the product lines: gouache, acrylic and watercolor. I've used the gouache and water colors and they are outstanding, too. Once I tried a few colors I went out and replaced several of my key colors in oils and intend replace other colors with M. Graham as I run out of less used colors (I tend to work from a v. limited palette). Not sure how I can give a stronger recommendation for these artist colors. Try them, I defy you to be disappointed.

Being sensitive to paint thinning products and binders used in many oil paints, I find the walnut oil in M.Graham works for me. It has a wonderful buttery texture, easy to work and gives a professional finished product. Using only cad. red, Ultra. blue, cad. yellow, white & black, I mix all my hues and M. Graham gives me all the nuances that I need for a harmonious color scheme. I buy the large tubes of these paints and find that to be a great value. As of now, I cannot find any downside of this product.

Fantastic Paints

These are wonderful paints that are very creamy and rich. They tint well and the colors are very saturated. There is no gritty texture, even for the earth colors, although these will dry a bit faster, as with other brands. I find these paints to be very buttery, more so than other brands, and I have tried most. I was worried that they might travel in my outdoor paintbox (placed on it's side in my bag), however, I took them out painting on a hot day and the white and yellow slid, but only slightly. The walnut oil makes these paints an alternative to painting without solvent. You can just use extra walnut oil to clean your brushes and then soap and water after a few days. Not quite as easy to clean up as water-mixable oils, but so nice to be able to use real oils! Oh, they do layer well alla-prima, despite the extra buttery quality. And I love the wide tube tops... no more cracked tube threads and fumbling to put the caps back on when in a rush to paint!

The colors are beautiful. The paint is buttery. The price is decent. Unlike linseed oil, walnut oil doesn't make me sneeze. Easy to clean up after with soap and water. I love these paints!

One of the things I liked about this brand is the tube is wide mouthed and you get just the right amount of paint out at a time. It is smooth and the colors are rich.

I have been using MGraham Paints for about 6 years now. I am a full time working oil painter and these paints are my number one choice. I bet I have painted over 500 paintings with these paints. My collectors comment how bright and vivid the colors are. I have every color and if there is not a color I need I can mix in other brands with out a problem.
