Comments about M. Graham Artists' Acrylics:

I really like this brand...the color is as saturated as Lascaux...I love Lascaux, so intense color and thicker than m. Graham but a lot more expensive...I love intensity and saturation of this brand and not as expensive as Lascaux....I can mix with wax to make it thicker if I want....the only problem is blicks only sell small tubes and I need big tubes...I paint 4 to 5 paintings a month and they are at least 5 to 6 feet...I use a lot of paints...these tube only last me a month or less...that's the only reason I have to use different brands...please offer us bigger size...

i do acrylic painting and teach acrylic too. all my students use graham paints and mediums. they are rich in pigments and smooth to paint with i use kolinsky brushes and the two are like painting with butter.

i highly reccomend graham products for succdessful art.

M. Graham and Sennelier are my two favorite acrylics. I have used every acrylic available through Blick and would say M. Graham is my first choice, Sennelier my second. M. Graham is the most richly pigmented, has a thick but creamy/wet consistency. The covering power is gorgeous (the tubes are clearly marked for opaque, semi-opaque, transparent so there's no mistaking an opaque for a transparent).
The tubes are durable, the caps stay tight but haven't broken or degraded (I've had several Blick Acrylic tubes that have oxidized around the groves for the cap and have crumbled away leaving the cap unable to be tightened). The working time for me, painting in Chicago fall/winter has been about 45 minutes or so without a retarder. That amazes me. A long working time is why I switched from acrylic to oil. M.Graham acrylic's pigment strength and working time and Sennelier's pigment strength and color range has brought me back to acrylic painting. I wish M. Graham would expand their color ranges across all of their products. It is simply a wonderful company that never fails to deliver first rate product.

Whenever I use acrylic in painting, I choose M. Graham. It's best when mixing colors, as I found out in a Color Theory class I took. Stays bright and with saturated color. Doesn't go as dark as say Liquitex when mixing, but does the job with satisfactory results, once you get used to it. Highly recommend.

I first met this brand about 12 years ago when my medium was watercolor. I found it to be smooth and easy to manipulate. Must be the honey. It was so hard to find, but I bought every color whenever I could find it. A few months ago (after not painting anything for years) I began painting with acrylics. I am thrilled to find M. Graham much more accessible. It retains moisture, easily flows off my brush, true colors. My favorite. When I have a choice I always choose M. Graham.

I recently made the switch from oils because I wanted paints with a shorter dry time; my memories of acrylics came mostly from using them in art classes in college, where I used the student-grade Liquitex variety. I remembered them being flat, dull, and thin with poor coverage. I was really pleasantly surprised when these paints exceeded my expectations. The pigment loading is high, resulting in vibrant colors with good coverage. The availability of so many lightfast single-pigment hues makes for clean mixing. Best of all, these have slightly more open time than I remember from acrylics, yet they still dry considerably faster than oils, allowing for layering and quick repainting. Fantastic, a pleasure to use!

I used Liquitex for year. Over time, I felt that the paint was not the same...maybe it was me though. So I experimented with a lot of brands (wasting great deals of money!) until I finally settled on the M Graham brand. Didn't give it the "best" rating, to be fair, as I didn't try all the brands, but did try some of the better ones. This was the best I found so far though. The colors are rich, saturated,and go on smoothly. They work well in thin initial layers, clear crisp impastos, and the glazing is nice. I love the handling of the titanium white. Also contacted the company and received a personal email from one of the owners. Nice people. My only issue with this paint is that it comes in small tubes only, and as I paint large, it would be nice to be able to buy in quantity...but the paint is still relatively economical.
