Move color around to fill in and polish drawings with this colorless blender. It works well with most colored pencils, and best with oil-based or liquid wax pencils. The pencil is pre-sharpened.

Comments about Lyra Splender Colorless Blender:
blends but very slowly. Would be good on certain media you want to blend slowly.

More of a burnisher than a blender
It doesn't really move color around at all. Compaired to the prismacolor blender and the carandache full body blender, it's completely useless. You can use it to push down the tooth of the paper after your drawing is done, but it's not sold as a burnisher so that doesn't cut it.

I absolutely love these colorless blenders. My favorite of all the brands of blenders and I've used them with all kinds of pencils. Use this on your colored pencil work and watch the magic happen!!

So far so good
from Harrington, DE
So I would say this functions better that Derwent blender, but not quite as nice as Caran d'ache full blender. Overall a very nice product though.

Lyra Splender Colorless Blender
Finally, a blender that works for oil based colored pencils and no wax or smelly solvents. Love this! I will be buying more.

I use this with my Lyra polycolor, Pablo and Polychromos pencils and it works very well for all of them.Works best with oil based colored pencils.Sharpens very well, no breakage. My favorite are the Caran d'Ache blenders, but these come in an easy second. But they are hard to find Dick's is the only place I have found them.

My favorite blender pencil compared to the others on the market. I use it to blend all the brands of colored pencils with beautiful results!

Softer but not better than prisma
from The Moon, duh!
This blender gets a "really nice" in quality because of the nice sparkly, transparent paint on the casing and because the blender is soft. I got three after getting a prisma blender since i needed to use them with polychromos. I found that the prismacolor blender was actually better than these for polychromos even though it has a waxy consistency. Also since these are soft they tend to go down much faster. As far as pencil blenders go none of them are really effective. Some people say they get better results with mineral spirits.
