Comments about Luxo LC Series Combo Light:

I just opened my new lamp and set it up on my drafting table. It's very solid, rotates into position and then actually stays where you want it. I did have a problem installing the round light bulb. It was very difficult to plug in and was not secure within the brackets. It was almost hanging free. I was as gentle as I could be trying to fix it in but i broke the bulb as I did.
I will have to get another and try again. Am I missing something? I'm not usually that clutzy with something like this. It also did not come with any reading material at all-no instructions.
clearly I needed something. Has anyone else had this difficulty? Any help with this would be appreciated. Otherwise, like the handling and construction of the lamp.

I use this light for all my artwork. I have it attached to my tilt-top art table. I purchased an optional Luxo Drafting Board Bracket, for edge mounting on inclined surfaces. I wish Blick offered this bracket; it's a handy option if you have a tilt-top.

What I like about it:
-Provides a very nice, clean combo light for colors and graphite gradations.
-Built very solid to last a long, long time.
-Great engineering: Allows you to adjust this light in every way possible without any sagging. Very versatile adjustments and very stable.

What I don't like about it:
Nothing.

I clamp this to my drafting table or easel. The light from both bulbs on at once is crisp, clear and bright. Great for mixing colors and painting in a indoor studio setting. LUXO lights have been in use by illustrators, animators and architects since the 1930s. It was recommended to me by several professional artists. THe adjustable arm is unique and can be adjusted to a myriad of angles. It is a solid, heavy light....built to last.
