A Bit Tricky to Get Perfect Corners
By Flower Child
from Huntington, NY
I've used the Logan Framing Tool many times with varied results. Sometimes my corners are excellent but too many times there are little spaces left between the mitered edges. This is most likely to happen when there are raised decorative trims on the front of the frame. Even after months of practice, I still can't guarantee I'll make perfect corners using this joiner. I'm not a professional framer so the price fit my budget. This works okay for me but the unpredictability of the corner is still annoying.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I used to make my own frames using an air nailer-but now with this framing tool, I get much neater frame joints! plus, made in American quality.
Value for the price

I was surprised at how heavy-duty this was. The instructions were a little jumbled, I had to flip back and forth through the different languages to complete the build. It does work quite well.

good, reliable low cost framing joiner
By Frank, a framer
from Chicago, IL
We use this as a back-up joiner in a commercial framing shop. It is our preferred joiner for delicate stock. It will handle up to 3 1/4" stock (inside rabbet to edge) which includes about 99% of our offered frames. Glue will accumulate in and foul the magnet plunger, so clean after each use and lube with silicone spray on occasion. Uneven stock can be problematic. Experience and good corner clamps help.

Good starter but has it's limitations
from Bowie MD
This is a very good starter tool. However it has it's limitations. If you are framing anything wider than say 2 1/2 inches or if the frame profile varies greatly you will need to improvise. This unit IS a starter to help you determine if this is what you want to do or, if you are doing this for yourself. I have done over 100 frames and feel this is a great tool for what it is intended.
