Logan's Framer's Edge Mat Cutters are designed for professional artists and framers who want a cost effective yet versatile machine that can handle both high production jobs and small projects. Crafted of durable, heavy-duty materials, they withstand the rigors of professional mat-cutting with ease and accuracy.

Every Framer's Edge machine boasts a nonstick-coated cutting bar that needs no lubrication. A single-pull, dual cutting head provides both bevel and straight cuts and has the ability to handle four-ply and eight-ply mats with ease. Lifetime-guaranteed Delrin bearings offer smooth operation over the long haul.

These state-of-the-art machines are built on a sturdy base crafted of ¾" (19 mm) composite board surfaced with durable, easy-to-clean laminate. A hinged guide rail, parallel mat guide, and three movable production stops enable quick, accurate operation with border measurements up to 5¼" (13 cm).

Work with your choice of two squaring arms: the 27" (69 cm) arm for making straight cuts or the 9" (23 cm) arm when space is tight.

Ten #269 replacement blades are included. The Framer's Edge also accepts #268 blades for eight-ply mat cutting.

Logan Framer's Edge Mat Cutters have many features of high-volume production cutters that one would find in a framing shop, yet they are lightweight and compact.

The 8" movable production stop allows the bevel head to cut all 4 sides without re-adjusting the cutting bar stops or marking the mat. Cutting bar stops are adjustable for borders up to 8".

The automatic lock-down pin on the straight cutter holds the blade in position, and offers 3-position depth adjustment. An indicator gauge eliminates overcuts.

I have used a couple of mat cutters in the past but this product is my favorite. A good friend of mine has let me use his. We were able to cut 80 mats for a show in no time at all. It is a good solid high quality product. I was able to set it up easily and it was perfectly square from the get go. My favorite feature is the stop system. Very easy to get perfect cuts every time.

I have had this mat cutter for 8 years and have always been pleased with the results. In fact, I had to get used to how reliable its production stops and guides are b/c I had used such poor equipment in the past. I still use the old measure & cut method for cutting my larger mats b/c the production stops don't always accommodate the sizes I need, but it always does a good job regardless of the method. I live in one room and have to keep the cutter in its box when not in use. I am pleased with the ease of setup. I did my research before purchase and was richly rewarded with results. It performs much better than any of the other mat cutters I've tried in its price range.

I mat and frame 40 to 100 11 X 14 images at least twice a year for individual exhibits every year and needed a mat cutter to allow me to cut mats up to 20 X 30 and variations in between. The 650 Logan is not only elegant looking it is as easy to assemble as it is to use.
Maybe in 10 years or so of usage I might find something that I don't like about the 650....but I don't think so.

Compared to my other mat cutter this is a dream. It takes only a short time to measure and cut a mat.I would advise any one buying a mat cutter to buy Logan brand. I purchased the Logan 650 that I can work with 32 x 40 inch mats.

I have used this many times before at artist friends studios. It is easy to learn as well as operate. Produces double mattes with beveled edges with ease. The price on Dick Blick's was the best I could find and shipping was very quick which happened to be a bonus so that I could meet that 'art show' deadline. Great product for the at-home studio.
